bonvanroulez what's the dimensions?  it doesn't say in the ad.  highdesertranger

The one that I have for $120 is 8' x 8'. They also have a larger size that's 8' x 11' for $150. The extra length of the 8 x 11 runs front to rear or lengthwise along the van.

They also sell a set of screen walls for the Ezy-awning that total about $110. I don't have their walls but I got a cheap deal online for a set of screen walls for a pop-up awning that I attach to the Ezy-awning with plastic clothesline clips.

Pics of the screen walls from Bus Depot site:

They work until they don't, and when they let loose is when you're relying on them. I fell in a tub/shower while holding onto on of those suction grab bars. I had even given it a test tug and it seemed secure but then it just came loose and I went down. Could have been disastrous at my age. I would never use one as a climbing or step assist.

Not sure I understand how one would work to attach an awning to a van/camper, but I wouldn't trust it to hold. I have seen purpose-built suction devices to attach an awning to a van.
you put a cord though the grommet on a tarp, shade cloth or installed grommet on awning fabric and then secure that cord onto  the handle of the grab bar. If you don't have a pre-installed grommet you can get clamp on ones at hardware stores.

They certainly did not make it easy to find out the size of the  easy awning. It should be right there upfront on the description of the product.

But it was lurking in another location on the website. Stupid to have to hunt the website for the dimensions, needless frustration for customers.

Packs small ... extends big.

The Ezy-Awning takes almost no space when stored. It fits into a small storage bag (included) roughly the same size and weight as a "chair-in-a-bag" - about 26 inches tall by 6 inches across. But it extends to either approximately 8 X 8 feet or 8 X 11 feet (depending on model chosen) when you put it up.

Maki2, in case you missed it the question that HDR asked me was answered in my reply to him in post #21

But it was lurking in another location on the website. Stupid to have to hunt the website for the dimensions, needless frustration for customers.

Was it that hard? The very first line in the item description:

Detailed Description
Click here for full list of features, options, and pictures of this unique awning.

Like just about every single merchant on the internet, where you scroll down and click on a link for additional detailed information about an item,

I clicked on the Click here and there it was!

'approximately 8 X 8 feet or 8 X 11 feet'

Which again, I did post the information in reply to HDRs question to me.

And I see that even after 3 posters described bad experiences with your suction grab bar including my fall in a bathtub, you want to double down on using them. I just sincerely hope you're never injured when using one as you recommended as a climbing aid, or that someone seeing that post is never injured in a fall using them as you've recommended. I suspect that the manufacturers of those suction grab bars have warnings and disclaimers about using them in ways not intended. And as mentioned above, there are purpose-made suction devices for attaching awnings so no need to re-purpose something that is likely to fail. One of the very first results when I googled "suction device to attach awning to rv" was this item:
https://www.amazon.com/REDCAMP-Suction-Securing-Camping-Accessory/dp/B07SBZ97SL
which has very good reviews.

yep I did indeed miss seeing your answer. but it seems that you missed reading what I said I used it on the side of my trailer for.

I do not climb onto those suction cup grips using them as a ladder, only a death-wish fool would do such a thing.

I understand that you don't think it will work to tied an awning to but they do despite what you think. I know that from experience, not from speculation.

but it seems that you missed reading what I said I used it on the side of my trailer for.

Really?  I read quite well.
What you posted about using them:
I also use one for a temporary handle to grab onto when I climb
and
to grab onto when climbing up onto my folding scaffold

What I posted above in response to your posts:
as you recommended as a climbing aid

Please point out where I said anything like:
using them as a ladder
I did not, and I don't like the inference that I did say such a ridiculous thing. Please stop.

I still consider your usage of the suction grab bar and posting about it as above to be reckless and dangerous.

Now that is all settled and now we all go on smiling together keeping the nomad community the kindest and most friendly bunch of people on the planet :) :) :)

What does that mean?  Bon Scott (AC/DC) vs  Bon Jovi ( Jon) or ??

Short for CRVL Forum member "bonvanroulez". Which is derived and tweaked from "Laissez les bons temps rouler".

Thanks. Nice name!! I need to brush up on my Southern Louisiana jargon--but I do try to make Jambalaya or Gumbo now and then. t

Now you did it. You got off the subject and started talking about food - Cajun food no less - Pass me the shrimp etouffee and boudin -- "Juré, my Lord.”

Light tent wont hold up out west . Canvas will.

Thanks Everyone! Great information. I hate to confess I've never tried Cajun food. I know, I know. But I want to!! Thanks again!
