I recently purchased an RV on e-bay, and while trying to arrange to have it transported from New Hampshire to Texas, I was wondering how difficult it would be to get started in as a part time Job, I'm not talking about driving Just being the broker. From what I learned from the internet, that it is a work at home job and you need to be licensed and bonded.
Has anybody ever thought about this. Of course when I googled it I came up with a bunch of ads trying to sell me a course.

Same story with my husband! He was fired during the pandemic and is looking for a job now. So he asked me to browse forums to find more information. And seriously? Do you need courses for that? I don't think that the job is that hard.

Are you talking about buying and selling over the internet or being a dispatcher for transporters or both?

Wow I posted that a long time ago. But what I was talking about was arranging tranportation for RV's or vehicles. At the time when I was researching this it didn't seem that difficult, a bond and website was mostly it.

IDK. I always thought that if interstate transport was involved, things would get very complicated.

I haul cars currently. I had my brokers authority years ago. I did it while driving a truck at the same time. I found it very stressful on both ends. You are playing middle man and the customer sometimes has unrealistic expectations and on the other end you have the carrier(once you find one) that sometimes lies and delays picking up and delivering the vehicle.

I had a customers load of cars burn up on the transport truck one time. The trailer caught fire.

This job can be done remotely with a internet connection but it’s not easy peasy.

A dispatcher and broker are two separate things, Dispatcher think: Drivers boss... Broker Think: dispatcher boss, at least that's how it is in big trucking companies

Transporting vehicles is a big industry.  Car Dealers use people to transport cars & small trucks in this manner.  A guy I grew up with used to almost live on the road doing this.  When I asked him about it he explained that dealers often have insurance companies locating replacement thru the dealer network to replace wrecked/totaled/stolen cars.

Some work in Wide Load Escort services.  Others deliver new RV's from the Factory to the Dealers.

Each State has  Civil Service Employment programs where transport drivers can apply and sit for the test.  They may chauffeur VIP's,  Drive Transport/Shuttle Vans, Drive Pickup Trucks on the states highways to look for distressed drivers, and numerous other assignments that State has.  Getting a job in any of these will help you with such a small business startup as you'll have experience, and can get Bankers, Lawyers, and Accountants to consider your venture.
