<font size="4">This is the side door curtain rod "installation."&nbsp; The rod is held up mainly in the center.&nbsp; Toward the front, the rod end rests in a trim crevice.&nbsp; Toward the rear, it is strapped to the shoulder belt holder with velcro.<br><br>The curtains run to the floor to help block drafts.&nbsp; The weight and opening and closing puts enough strain on the rod to cause it to bend somewhat.&nbsp; A clothes pin is used to bring the curtains together in the center.<br><br>I hope to improve on this some time, but it works for now.&nbsp; (The first set consisted of a beach towel stuffed between the glass and gasket at the top and held with clothespin halves, so we've made progress!)<br><br></font><br>

<font size="4">Here are pics of the rear window curtain rod.&nbsp; The rod is supported at the center by the existing door hardware.&nbsp; To hold the ends in place, I stuffed a couple of clear stick on hooks in gaps in the upholstery.&nbsp; The end caps were pulled off the rods, and the hooks inserted into the openings.&nbsp; This works suprisingly well!<br><br><br><br></font>

here are a couple pics of &nbsp;hanging a rod across the rear of the rondyvan using a cheap expandable curtain road and velcro cord wrap thingies....i use the rod more for hanging my bloomers to dry, since i use reflectix in the rear window alot. &nbsp;<div><br></div><div>also my curtain tie-backs using the same velcro straps.&nbsp;</div>

Tara, Vickie, Katie...I'm so appreciative of all the pics of how you all have hung curtains!&nbsp; Can't believe I've somehow missed the yellow&nbsp;"new post" star on this thread and am just seeing your pics today.<br><br>Bought 2 pressure rods&nbsp;to&nbsp;use&nbsp;for curtains behind the seats and across the back doors.&nbsp;&nbsp;Where I want to hang them is slightly rounded so they&nbsp;won't stay up w/o making use of your hanging tactics.&nbsp; <br>Curtain pockets will be an added bonus!<br><br>&nbsp; I have purchased black fleece to make curtains and&nbsp;a roll of reflectix. Today we ordered enough interlocking quarter inch floor mats to cover the entire floor of the van. also ordered a solar/hand crank weather radio and&nbsp;a folding&nbsp;lounge chair "w/ bungee-cord suspension" from Cabela's. We also bought a 13' x 9' screen house that's 7' tall in the center from walmart to provide shade and outdoor living space.&nbsp; <br><br>&nbsp;I haven't done much actual work inside the van .&nbsp; We&nbsp;have removed both rear seats and I've fitted one side window and the back door windows&nbsp;w/ reflectix so far.&nbsp; Very tiring to work on my knees or squatting.&nbsp; I will try working w/ a short stool to sit on...see if that helps.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; That's my progress so far.<br><br>

Butterfly, I can really relate to "tiring to work on my knees" or "squatting". I got a garden/yard work knee pad, but finally decided I could put cardboard on our old dining room table, make a lot of trips back and forth to the van for cutting reflectix and glueing stuff. &nbsp; Our van has 9 windows, not counting the windshield. Only 3 are the same size!! I wasted time trying&nbsp;cardboard and newspaper for templates. I finally just cut reflectix too large, but relatively close to&nbsp;each window size. Then, with a&nbsp;Sharpie pen, mashed the reflectix around the edges, marked and cut at the van. Much faster. Then, outdoors, I traced the reflectix onto hardboard, cut with a power saw and glued the two together on the&nbsp;table. Gorilla Super glue is better than regular. Weighted the two pieces down with boards and weights till dry. Now, the windows have reflectix on one side and black hard board on the other. Glued velcro to edges of window (or frames) and to the board side. Very secure. Had to get off with screw driver help in order to cut&nbsp;"peep holes". Took a week. Thanks for the pic of the snap/clamp thing to hang stuff&nbsp;from.&nbsp; Will certainly use some.<br>jbandh&nbsp;<br>

I'm having trouble making heads or tails of those pics, twokniveskatie.&nbsp; I am completely frustrated about how to put up this reflectix I bought.&nbsp; <br>

marcy, i have some other photos of the reflectix that should help. i'll find them a do another post with a better description. although most of my reflectix is tucked between the glass and the window frame.....that's the stuff i rarely remove.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>the reflectix panels i remove have tabs, much like the tabs on paper dolls, that are simply duct tape with a magnet inside that attaches to metal discs screwed into the plastic window frames.</div><div><br></div><div>d@mn. lost a whole freakin edit.</div><div><br></div><div>pic1:super magnets from joannes</div><div>pic2:washers from lowes. flat screws were found to fit flush with the washers to create a large flat surface for magnets to attach</div><div>pic3: washer screwed into plastic around window.</div><div>pic4: see the little gray elbow bottom center of window that allows window to open? that has a metal washer superglued to it, and you can see little flap with magnet on fabric-backed reflectix stuck to it.</div><div>pic5: 2 strips of duct tape. top has magnet laid on it. bottom shows end of tape folded over so whole magnet is encased in tape. magnets are still strong enough to stick through tape. long sticky end is overlayed on reflectix so that only little black piece sticks out like a tab.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>is this helping? i'm going out to do more pics now......</div><div><br></div><div>Edited To Add: i lost the pics. bear with me while i find them.</div>

here is a pic of me using a knife to tuck the edge of reflectix between glass and plastic window frame. don't know if that is possible on anything other than an astro.<div><br></div><div>pic1: sideview of washer with screw to show flush fit.</div><div>pic2: using buter knife to tuck fabric covered reflectix between glass and plastic</div><div>pic3: view of rear side window with reflectix tucked in all snug. no glue or anything needed to hold it in place.&nbsp;</div><div>pic4: shows duct tape tab with magnet inside attached to metal washer</div><div>pic5: shows me holding tab/magnet away from metal washer. it will snap back in place when i let go. (see pic 4)</div>

trying again. gah. seems when i edited to caption pics, i lost them.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div><div style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; ">pic1:super magnets from joannes</div><div style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; ">pic2:washers from lowes. flat screws were found to fit flush with the washers to create a large flat surface for magnets to attach</div><div style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; ">pic3: washer screwed into plastic around window.</div><div style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; ">pic4: see the little gray elbow bottom center of window that allows window to open? that has a metal washer superglued to it, and you can see little flap with magnet on fabric-backed reflectix stuck to it.</div><div style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; ">pic5: 2 strips of duct tape. top has magnet laid on it. bottom shows end of tape folded over so whole magnet is encased in tape. magnets are still strong enough to stick through tape. long sticky end is overlayed on reflectix so that only little black piece sticks out like a tab.&nbsp;</div></div><div><br></div><div><img border="0" align="absmiddle" src="https://vanlivingforum.com/images/boards/smilies/comp.gif">&nbsp;PLEASE NOTE: i'm attaching pics again. don't know if the order will match the cut and pasted numbered explanations, so use you imagination if they don't.&nbsp;<br></div>

oh, bless my heart, it looks like when i post a new reply with pics, it removes the ones i had before? i'm going to take a break, i'll be back.

The next to the last picture is what's throwing me.&nbsp; I think I sort of get the concept.&nbsp; I think I"ll just have to put the reflectix up in a quick manner and then just let everyone's ideas marinate a while before I decide how to change it.&nbsp; I really don't want to screw anything into the interior, though.<br>
