Parked my standard E150 van next to an Astro and snapped a few size comparison pics. I looked for, but could not find any when I was deciding on a van to buy.

It's probably not a bad thing that you couldn't find any... :)

I've lived in a full size and lived out of an Astro. The Astro was bought for daily driving when I owned a large RV that was parked due to flood damage. It was okay but for full-time living, when I had to move in to it, it was really cramped.

The difference in interior space isn't all that apparent until you try getting you and all your stuff in either one.

Sorry. I meant could not fi d comparisin photos. Many Astros / Safaris for sale. More $ than comparable full size vans though. And the 3 inches or so less headroom sold me on the full size.

I looked at Astros too. Room wasn't that bad but obviously less than a standard cargo van. The big hang up for me was the gas mileage wasn't that much better so the extra room is worth losing 1 - 2 MPG and going with the standard sized cargo van.

I find a full size similar van does not compare with my gas mileage, my sisters ford van gets 15 on highway, and my safari gets 20 minimum and more like 22-24 avg on highway, and a consistant city of 15.7.  she gets 12 if lucky. maybe I am just lucky? would be first time LOL
