The back story on this: They came from Montreal, Canada and where going to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

So the question is what were they doing in the mountains of Northeast PA?

My guess they were penny foolish and did not want to pay the tolls of the NYS Thruway, the Geo Washington Bridge is free westbound, NJ Turnpike, but they still had to pay the entire length of PA Turnpike Ne Extension aka I-476 but never made it.

But on the brght side they did not become a victim of a shark attack.

that was an accident waiting to happen. that tow vehicle had way to short wheelbase to tow a trailer that size. I don't care who says different. this should be a lessen to everybody, thankfully no one was hurt. highdesertranger

Maybe the TT was a rental... That'll give dealers something to think about... Hope the towing party had insurance...
