So when I pulled into town, I found myself in a comcast area. Trolled the list of open hotspots near me, and found an open xfinity hotspot. It's a pay to play, but they only wanted $54 for the month, and it's a very fast little connection. Mostly reliable. Goes out occasionally, but it's not using my data plan, which is nice. They let me binge netflix, which I haven't been able to do in a while. The one thing about it that really bothered me was the single device limitation. I got around that by turning my laptop into a hotspot, and was able to connect my other devices to it.

It's a pretty good deal, and not one that I see advertised much.
Just thought I would mention it.

I’m in LA. My daughter lives in Phoenix and has Cox as her internet provider. Because she uses Cox she gets access to all of their hotspots. And because I’m her dad I get to use her sign in info and get free WiFi almost everywhere I go.

It turns out that the spot I pulled into to sleep tonight is in a hot spot so I can watch a little Netflix before bed. To make it even easier Cox has an app that will tell me the closest hot spot to me.

If I was not lucky enough to score free access I would most likely keep using paces like Starbucks and places like that but I would also seriously consider paying to have e access I have now.

Cox hotspots work great. In LA it let’s me use all the hotspots labeled “cable WiFi’’ as well. The Cox app works great to find the closest spot and in S. Cal there are a ton of hotspots to use. I usually have no trouble streaming Netflix to watch movies.

Same here.
I usually get my netflix on the weekends.
It's nice to be able to unwind, and put the concerns and work related thoughts down for a couple of hours.

hey all. i’m stealthing in seattle, i use xfinity hotspots and i will tell you it’s a love/hate relationship for sure.
honestly, it seems when i’m in need, i’m very often found without a hotspot. i’ve learned where hotspots are around my immediate areas by trial and error and also https://hotspots.wifi.xfinity.com/mobile/index.php but any foreign (to you) spots are really a crap shoot.
when connected though —— BLISS.

i’m currently looking into portable wifi but no decisions have been made. any one have any experience or helpful words of advice on modems and the like? i just researched the Nighthawk
