The thing that helped me most in my car is the window covers I built. I made them out of chloroplast (election signs) Mylar and duct tape. The duct tape is to make sure the glued on Mylar does not come off and it helps cover the imperfections. When I put them in the window DAILY they are so good that I need lights in the car to see at NOON SUN ! So if I were low budget I would go to how to tint window and use the information to make the best window covers EVER. Sure they take up space but they block out the light and heat.
