Any ideas for stealth in the South?

I don't understand the thing about not showing ID to cops. What is it exactly you're afraid is going to happen? They'll arbitrarily decide to persecute you and take down your information for later? Enter you into the super-secret computer for the next barrage of targeted chemtrails? They just want to see your ID so they know you're not a murderer hiding out in a truck on the side of the road. Because that's their job. And that's even a reasonable question for them to form.

As others have mentioned, it gets very hot and humid here in the summer(and the spring and fall too ;) ). Fans help a lot. Screens to give you ventilation without the mosquitoes also help a lot. Parking is not as bad as people would have you believe. I have slept in many wal-marts all over Florida, even ones marked no overnight parking. Just don't be obnoxious about it. Don't stay all day and sleep through the night. Go there just when you are ready to sleep. Sleep, then get up and either go patronize the wal-mart or leave. I have never had a problem doing this.

As we say, a right not exercised is a right lost.

If a police officer has reasonable suspicion that you have committed a crime, you are required to provide identifying information in many states (see Stop and identify statutes on Wikipedia).

However, if such a legal threshold is not met, why do you feel the need to prove your innocence by providing identification, when you are completely free to go about your business?

Besides, you are essentially detaining yourself by surrendering documents to a police officer. Of course you will not leave your documents behind, so you are now forcing yourself to remain in de facto custody until your name is cleared and the officer returns your documents. Would you like it if cops were allowed to arbitrarily demand your identification at any time and place for any reason or no reason at all and keep you in custody until the all-clear is given?

Back to my first sentence.

Oh, and sorry for getting off-topic. I won't post again on this topic.

I don't have a reason to do stealth now....but I am curious....wouldn't it be hard to do stealth anywhere....
