Any Hummer owners? Need feedback

I looking to buy a 2004 Hummer 2 LUX this week
Price is decent, 115,000 miles
loaded everything, been checked by a trusted mechanic
and clear carfax

i can live with the gas mileage as i only boondock
every 3 weeks for 4 days at a time  

only pulling a 12' cargo built out with solar
but hummer has 6.0 v8

any feedback from owners ? good ? Bad ?

If it's the Chevy 6.0 it's a great engine, proven and very reliable. No experience with the hummer though, but i have owned a box truck with the 6.0 and I loved it. If I go with another express van, i'll be looking to get one with that motor.

Just read about them on Wikipedia and they chassis sounds like it was designed to be a solid, reliable platform for the heavy vehicle.

a hummer II is not really a hummer. it's a aberration of a hummer. the military never used these. they share nothing with the military hummer. now the H1 was a civilian version of the humvee and shared many parts, but the II's and III's are plain old Chevy's. highdesertranger

Not mine, but a coworker has the H1. she seems to love it. It's her winter rig, occasional summer driver. Not sure the year of it but Ive always wanted one. Sorry I couldn't be more help. got any pictures of the one youre looking at?

IMO those wheels and tires got to go. those low profile tires cannot handle off road driving. those rims/wheels are the wrong offset. around here you would get a ticket quick. they will flip up anything on the road. if a motorcycle LEO is behind you and you flip a rock up in his face it's not going to be a fun day for you. whoever put those on doesn't know anything about 4x4's. what shape is the paint in on the rocker panels on the back side of the wheel wells. also it appears the camber is off and the front tires have started cupping. I would stay away this vehicle has been modified by someone without a clue. highdesertranger
