Very cool! Shame they're not hiring in Missouri!! Oh well, perhaps in a year or two I'll live in one of the states they require!

I saw this. I would probably apply if I had a decent computer. I use a kindle and our laptop sucks. Im not much of a phone talker, but to work from home, Id consider it.

BTW they are also hiring full time, same pay rate, 40-60 hrs a week doing something very similar.

If it's a work from homfe position, I wonder why you have to live in one of those states to be eligible?

Says something about in person paperwork. Could be part of the reason.

Someone posted this on the Xscapers webpage too. Amazon already has a presence in the states listed and charges taxes. If they had someone working in any of the other states they would be classed as "having a business presence" there.

You can't have a wireless connection either...has to be cable.

"Having a substantial business presence" is not considered a valid test for the "bright line". Cases in Ohio and PA have been upheld that the "bright line" is considered met with in state revenue exceeding $500,000 annual.

Anyway..I have followed this taxation argument for years due to a business I ran in multiple states. States are winning this in supreme courts because the Internet business is closing the Brick and Mortar stores.

Having done UNIX/Linux administration & support for 35 years 24/7 working rotating shifts dealing with an employee base of 17,000 for a large aerospace manufacturing firm located at 27 different plant locations nationwide all I can say is, HAH! Forget about it!

I believe Amazon requires a high speed always on internet connection.

When they say "home" they are thinking stick and brick on a street with cable to the premises.
