I don't know why I'm so excited, but I attended the hiring webinar for Haslet, TX today, and will receive my employment offer letter some time tomorrow!! We get to choose (subject to Amazon change) what departments and shifts we want, and I was wondering if anyone here had done this before and had recommendations on departments/jobs? I thought of working the night shift for the extra .50 an hour, but I don't think I'm tough enough to work nights 50-60 hours/week for an extra $30/wk, so I'll probably stick with the 10 hour day shift.

Thanks!

I haven't, but Becky Schrade over on Interstellar Orchard has done it for several years and has written a dozen or more blog posts detailing a lot of it.  They are collected here:

A very good read.  And if you have questions not covered in her posts, I'm sure Becky would be happy to hear from you.  She seems really nice.

Regards
John

Them asking where and when you want to work is a formality, they'll put you wherever they need you.

Yes, they did make that clear, but just in case I'm the one person who is assigned where and when she chose, I'd like to make a good choice! lol
