Craig Childs is one of my favorite writers on the outdoors, history, science and life. He has a new essay in Emergence Magazine about the differences between being alone and being lonely, and how being alone can be good for us. The article is in the context of a five day solo canoe trip down the Green River in Utah. It's a good read.

Well done! There is a difference and value in both, just as the season's of our live's and of nature's. Thank you for sharing.  ;)

I'm hang'n with me,myself, and I...two's company, three's a crowd! LOL  :D

Nice! I'm currently devouring Craig Childs' book "The Secrets of Water." He's someone I would love to meet. His "Water" book is definitely required reading for anyone who spends time in the desert. Anyone, in fact, who spends even one day in the desert. Thanks for the link!
