Almost Free No Data Caps Internet T.V. And Movies

OK, T-Mobile already took steps to boost themselves over ATT and Verizon. T-Mobile created, "Binge On" which lets you stream unlimited video and T.V. programs without touching the data plan you pay for on their communication network.

T-Mobile started to create this free streaming service in 2015 which makes me wonder why it's not all over the internet? It's going to be out in the van communities now if it's real. I've been researching it for hours now and can't find any flaws.

The way it works is you can stream free as long as you use the T-Mobile partner networks like, "Hulu", "Sling", "Movieplex", "Direct TV", "Netflix", "Starz", "You Tube Red", "Amazon", "Tubi" and more which you have to pay for and have a 3 GB T-Mobile plan or higher. You just have to be a T-Mobile Simple Choice custormer.

If you watch video from a T-Mobile Binge On "Non" partner your data from your plan will be used but you will get 3 times more data until your data runs out.

I would like to hear about any flaws in this T-Mobile Binge On streaming service if you find any but right now as I write this post it looks like T-Mobile is just trying to get on top of the pile knowing other services are throttling their customers.

I don't know what special equipment or electronic setup you or I will need to stream Binge On T.V. and movies. I was watching a You Tube video and the guy had a router box and some other hookup boxes on a solar generator so this is still under research.

T-Mobile discontinued the "Simple Choice Customer" and is telling these customers to go to their "Magenta Max" plan which is $140 a month. I'm still researching.

I called T-Mobile just now and the phone clerk didn't really know what "Binge On" was but he looked it up and told me to use "Binge On" I needed 3 GB at $35 a month to use it plus whatever the streaming service charged.

This is what research is for. As for "Reddit", I wouldn't trust anything that's posted on that social web site by the members. Reddit is just as rotten as can be.

Reddit is what you make it. If you want to find negative content there, you will. Same with positive content.

I found a very good thread about a van conversion there (Toyota Sienna). How rotten could that be?

I have had Visible for three years and it has worked great. Visible has changed their plans. They now have two plans. One is $30/month and the other is $45/month. They no longer have the $25/month Party Pay. The Party Pay plan will continue for people that currently have the plan.

My experience has been that the problem with TMobile is when they don't have any service at all which is currently in way too many places.

Finding the same here.

Husband has had Visible for a couple years and the speeds were decent at first no matter where we were traveling. But, in the past year, data has been pretty much unusable unless we are in a very remote region with no competing needs by regular Verizon folk.

Note that if you have the more expensive* Visible plan, you'll get premium Verizon access with no quality of service (QoS) speed limitations. i.e. if congested cell towers are your problem, you'll stay at full-speed while they dial down other users first.

*relatively speaking. $45/mo for a premium plan is quite reasonable, when similar plans are around $70/mo from other carriers.

I've been using Visible for over 1 1/2 years and couldn't be happier with it. Last time I looked (probably a year ago) I was using over 150+ GB's of video, etc. every month and rarely buffer. Pretty sure no one can beat the $25.00 a month I pay for phone and TRUE unlimited data. (The rest are all lying when they say "unlimited data.") Only issue with Visible is that in the unlikely event you need tech support, well, gawd help you cuz it's terrible!

Is Visible slow for you because you're outside the area Verizon covers?

no it's throttled to 5 Mbps and last night I was getting 1 Mbps right in town near a tower

I have 4 bars at the moment, which is rare, and just did a speed test on my Macbook Pro using my iPhone as a hotspot. I got 5.07 Mbps download and 4.51 Mbps upload. Speeds fluctuate so I immediately tested again and download was only 1Mbps. In spite of the momentary lower speeds, I have never not been able to stream Youtube videos and movies. Even at those mediocre speeds I can still do about 95% of the things I normally do on my iPad or laptop. If I'm working with large files then I use the WIFI at the *library or Starbucks.

What do you need to do that requires faster download speeds than 5 Mbps?


*The library WIFI is insane at 88Mbps and 124Mbps!

Starbucks, Arby's and Taco Bell all have decent speeds, according to CNET. For those new to free wi-fi (me) I read to be sure to use a VPN .

A few of the youtubers I follow upload big files at libraries and universities.

Been worried about gettin full-timer isp dialed in for a while. I get free ATT data on my cars wifi hotspot until Aug 2023, it has an external antenna and gets 5g speeds (in an urban area) but t-mobile's new no data cap home internet service is only $50 a month w/ free router and they will let you "move" as often as you'd like with no charge, or Visible/Verizon is only $35-45 a month for unlimited. But then you're stuck between devices and/or sim cards, which seems like a pain. An LTE router with v-sim sounds like the way to go(?). Then you have to figure out an antenna or booster, YT reviews say WeBoost Drive Reach doesnt do much for down data speeds (improves up), prob better off with a good omnidirectional mimo antenna, or even better one of the generic UWB high-gain directional parabolic mimo antenna, more effort to find a tower and point antenna at it, but you can get more gain/faster speeds for the effort. Still a pain to switch between all three US carriers based on your location, a 3rd party MVNO data reseller seems lower maintenance, all three carriers data on bill/device.

I think Im going to pull the trigger on this HomeFi with a one-time $99 LTE v-sim router purchase and 200GB data plan that roams on all 3 US carriers for $80 month. Looks like I can remove the two mimo antenna on the router and plug into an external roof mounted mimo. I want to play around with 2, 4, or 8x8 mimo just to see if you can really get more speed out of a 4g signal with multiple antenna each grabbing a different slice of frequency and multiplying across them all. My concern about LTE data is that Verizon looks like the strongest carrier in the desert and it sounds like their towers get slammed with all the winter traffic down there. Will be fun to see if I can figure out a way to snatch more data from crowded towers in the desert this winter. If anyone has used HomeFi or InfiniteLTEdata (looks like they both use the same router) would be interested in your experience in service or the router?

Its good to have options, worst case you have to drop $650 on SL and then $135 month, best case $99 for the generic LTE router and $80 month.

I get it but Visible at $25 a month does what I need 98% of the time and the other 2% is when I use Starbucks or the library.

I pay $25 a month for Visible. For new users there are two plans available now for $30 and $40.
