Hello everyone!

This thread is for posting advisories for local areas.  ~crofter

Hello again!

This situation is just unfolding in central Oregon, Hunchback Mountain trail, South Mount Hood area. Since I have recommended areas nearby for camping and hiking, I felt the need to post on this fatal cougar attack on a well experienced adult hiker.  ~crofter

Thanks for that channel. People may be able to receive that after other services fail.

The flooding is expected to be huge in the Carolinas, and possibly Georgia.  From this morning's update on CBS, "[font=Georgia, serif]The NHC said life-threatening storm surge and rainfall are expected. The storm is expected to push up to 13 feet of storm surge and dump water on both North and South Carolina. The forecast calls for as much as 40 inches of rain over seven days along the coast, with the deluge continuing even as the center of the storm slogs away over the Appalachian Mountains. The cleanup posted for today at 10am is technically cancelled due to no permit. Who knew one needs a permit to pick up garbage?  Any cleaner uppers will need to be stealthy and or cleanup a different area.

Requirements from the ADOT guy are:  they want a long term commitment from an organized group, plus all the paperwork that goes along with "Adopt a Highway" program. If anyone wants to do the paperwork, contact Gerry in Yuma at 928-317-2106.

Government in (in)action again. They would rather have it trashy it seems. Why O why does the government always make the simplest things complicated and difficult?

I don’t think you will be arrested for picking up trash. Some things are just too silly to not just ignore

Since I publicly went in there, my cleanups will be in stealth mode. And, you can pick up as much trash 30 minutes at a time as in an organized shebang.

Another painful subject for you, how bad is your rig? First dent in the new baby or major bodywork needed?  -crofter

Dang my rig... I don’t know. I can’t look at it. I think the trailer is much worse though.

Monsoon is on it's way, I decided to post this here instead of the chat thread. Stay safe everyone.

Not too hot here in southern AZ, at 103 degrees high for the day. Monsoon is on the way, and flooding reported in Tucson, flood watch in areas around Phoenix. Remember not to drive through water please, and avoid camping in a wash during the monsoon. Link to the current advisory, Maricopa county, Yuma county, La Paz county, and areas around Tucson as well as other areas farther east.
