How very sad. Two legged predators have found their way into the forests. Sometimes I look at what several of our male members (and females as well) are doing to safeguard their rv,themselves and possesions and I see 'overkill'. Prehaps I do need to get my head out of the sand and become proactive.
I don't know about your area Cindi, in AZ but here drugs and aquiring the money to buy them is a large percentage of our very high crime rate. Lets hope whoever it is doesn't spread the word about easy pickings or at the very least gets eaten by mountain lions. Criminals given 2nd chances to often use their 2nd chances to be more clever.

Dragonfly
I can't stand thieves... How ironic that I just installed the TruckVault I got for a couple hundred bucks on CL... The one I got is the exact one the guy is trying to break into, "truckvault break-in trial".

http://truckvault.com/Videos.aspx

I have the drawers opening towards the front of the van, which will then double as my full size bed frame. I HIGHLY recommend anyone finding a steal on these things, to buy it. It should last forever, and is VERY secure (bolted through van body with high-tensile strength bolts.

Love that vault, AJ!

I also love Diane's idea of hiding it as part of the bed! My ol' creaky knees think that's a great idea, too!

On another note, I ran across this awhile ago. It's a PDF file
Creating secret hiding places

hmmm.. I should make a thread for that link.

AJ, Your vault deserves it's own thread, too...
Here's a pic of the truckvault installed (2" memory foam double folded as a seat for now). I sleep in the upper bed when the top is up. I may also do the bolt on firesafe like you did.

Still can't believe these things sell for over 1800 bucks, new... Ridiculous... No wonder our local governments are broke. I bought this off a deputy, who was updating his department's new 90 grand SUV. I've seen 2 more online since I bought this one, so I know they are out there (for others interested). I love the fact that they are nearly fireproof, as well...
.
I feel ya... I'm tapped out, myself... I tend to go on buying binges at the beginning of each project, and then ration build progress over a period of time. If I was a good wood-worker like yourself, I'd be done by now. BUT, I'm not... so, I've been slacking... I like the mechanical aspect of working on projects. This interior build is draining me (along with the 5150 Xray)...lol
