Yeah, I could, and I thought about it, but don't really know if I want to spend the money to see if I like it, I work at Napa, we sell it too.

So, I plan to be on the road no later than 7 pm on Thursday... just 2 days from now. I have so much left to do! I need to change the oil in the truck, make sure the other fluids are up, especially the rear differential because it has a weeping pinion seal ( was supposed to be changed last week, but didn't happen.) finish the inside of the "camper" (I don't think it's going to take that long... cut the foam mattress to size, just a little more trim to do, a little caulking here and there..and curtains) The big problem is work..I have another full day of that tomorrow. Oh, and clean the house...my wife gets home from her trip before I get home from mine
Today's major progress was making two drawers for the counter cabinet, fitting the door a bit better and putting the sink and faucet in the counter,

oh this is too neat!!  I so wish I had the knack to build, this is just too amazing!

The sink. I think I might have seen the idea of using a stainless steel mixing bowl here somewhere, but wherever I saw it, I thought it was genius...so I stole the idea and made my own. It's about 10 inches in diameter I think.
I have some of those too!  That's what amazes me most, people's ingenuity.  I would have guessed (after seeing your "finished" sink) that you bought that whole setup!!

I was actually amazed at how easy it was to make. I bought a really cheap bowl, for $2.50, traced around the drain (which I bought on Amazon for $8) on the bottom of the bowl, drilled a starter hole, and then cut it out with tin snips. I haven't quite figured out how to mount it in the cabinet yet, but I'm thinking of silicone sealant, or maybe double-sided tape.

I'm now at my son's house in GA and thought I'd do a report on how it worked for me. First, though, I'll tell you that it now has a name...it's Cramper, because at about 24 square feet, it's quite cramped in there.
I ended up running out of time to finish everything, so the pump wasn't connected for my entire trip, the sink isn't attached to the counter, and I forgot where I put everything, but, it was a good place to sleep for the last 3 nights and I'm very happy with it. I did buy some velcro and cut some fabric for some quick and ugly, better-than-nothing curtains, which you'll see in the pictures.  I'll be here at my son's for a week so I'll be able to finish things up, and achieve something close to organization.
It turns out that the height is quite good... I can't stand up of course, but I don't bump my head when sitting on the bed, or bucket.
It must be quite aerodynamic too... I averaged over 19 mpg during my 1400 miles.

Excellent KK!

Mine will be cramped as well but you are making it work! I don't remember what you are using for padding under your sleeping bag? I'm thinking a piece of foam rubber rather than an aire mattress. Not sure yet, thanks for doing pics ;) It's been so great following your work ;) Denise

Looking good. Wow what kind of stainless is that that you can cut with tin snips? Highdesertranger

I bought a piece of foam rubber that is 4 inches thick from a discount store. I think it was rwin bed sized, but I cut it down to 71 inches by 24 inches.

Thanks KK, I can do the same/similar then ;) I have to get the measurements of my truck bed, they're online, but I want to make sure with my own measurements. What type of wood did you use? And hope you won't mind me asking, but what type of jug for your sink-water, and hose?

Thanks much, and again, it's been great watching yours come together, Denise!!

Ok, no need for me to ask about the wood, Doug (abnorm) doesn't want me to buy any of the building material until I get over there where they will be camping. He said I can go ahead and buy a little sink and underneath parts and jug. So if you can tell me how that's setup and where you got the parts? Thanks much, Denise PS I know your sink is from a kitchen bowl, but I'll buy one as I think it will be easier. They are too spendy on Amazon luckily ;)

I'll post some links

I connected them with 3/8" clear vinyl tubing but discovered that the pump actually generates enough pressure to blow the tubing off the nipple so clamps are needed.
If you need a drain with the sink you buy or decide to go the bowl route, you can buy them at a Home Depot or Lowes, or this is the one I used.
Highcraft 9738 Kitchen Sink (3-1/2 Inch) Stainless Steel Drain Assembly With Strainer Basket-and Water Stopper, Single

I'm using 2.5 gallon water jugs for both the fresh and gray water "tanks". I took the entire valve off the one I use for the gray water as it sits directly under the sink drain (which has a short tube on it that goes a short way into the neck of the tank). I pulled just the valve out of the freshwater tank and found that a 5/8" O.D. tube fits into the remaining hole, so that's what I used to connect to the inlet side of the pump.
I need to open things up to put clamps on the tubing tomorrow so I'll snap some pictures then.

Can't thank you enough KK, I will run it by Doug (abnorm) and see what he thinks about installing it all!  Thanks again for the links!!
Happy to help...I'm thrilled that someone likes what I did.
Pictures tomorrow.

Hi again KK,

Is that a "pump-type" faucet you have? I found one like it online but the description didn't mention "pump" at all so just curious. Again, I know Doug will know what to get, I guess I'm just excited and for quite awhile, I, like many of us, haven't had much to be excited about ;)

EDIT: I did get the link to work, sorry bout that kk, and I also see it is a pump type, pulled it right up!

As promised, some pictures
The first one is of the connection to the faucet. It's a 1/2" pipe elbow and a 1/2 male pipe to 3/8 barb nylon fitting. My original plan was to use a nylon nipple with a female thread and go straight on to the faucet, but the store didn't have that fitting. Now I'm glad they didn't, having it come in from the side allowed me a bit more flexibility with mounting the pump.

The second picture is the mess that I had to do to adapt the sink drain to a nipple for the connection to the gray water tank. It consists of the sink drain, a 1.25" tailpiece cut way short, an adapter to clamp onto that, an adapter that glues into the adapter to make it possible to screw in a nylon nipple, and a short piece of 1/2" tubing. Ugly as all get out, but it does the job.

I couldn't edit due to the 15-minute time restriction, so here's the descriptions for the other pictures.
This picture of the pump mount was before I relocated it this morning. I discovered that the tubing got kinked when I put the countertop back in place, so I've now moved the pump to the right side of the middle of the cabinet frame. I lengthened the tubing that way, which eliminated the sharp turn that the short piece of tubing had to make.

The water tanks are just 2.5-gallon water jugs. I bought them at a local supermarket, but I swear I've seen them at Walmart in the past. That's where I went first to buy some, but my local Walmart doesn't seem to have them. The gray tank is on the left and you can see that I pulled the whole valve assembly out so the drain from the sink just drops straight in. On the freshwater tank, I pilled the center of the valve out and found that the tube to the pump just slides in perfectly. IN the picture you can also see that the tanks fit between the outer wall of the cabinet and the fender well. That was luck...I didn't really start out thinking they'd fit without making the counter too wide for my space.

The faucet is not an RV "pump type". Those have a lever that you pump to make the water flow. This faucet needs an electric pump to move the water. Originally, I was going to use the manual pump type but found that for just a few more dollars I could go electric. As I needed a battery for the fan, I figured why not do it "fancy".

Doesn't that clear vinyl tubbing impart a terrible taste to the water? I have never found any that didn't. I have found that the reinforced vinyl tubing is much better as far as not making the water gag worthy. I would also get rid of that galvanized fitting, brass, stainless, or pvc for me.
