I have a hypothetical question to all of those who are full time van dwellers.

Let's say someone gives you a house free and clear in a quiet area with lots of trees. Your taxes amount to $50 per month, and utilities are $100-150 per month, perhaps lower if you're creative. They also give you enough money to cover any maintenance that may come up.

Do you move into the house and use your van to travel often, or do you rent or sell the house and continue to van dwell?

Live for $200 per month or less? Move in if you like the area. Can't be beat.

Can they adopt me too, pretty please..... :D

I'd rent the house or just leave it empty but with someone to look after it for me.

It wouldn't stop me from travelling full-time for the next as many years as I can because that's what I'm out here vandwelling for. I'm here because I want to be on the road not because I have to be which admittedly, makes a big difference in the way of thinking.

But it would make an awfully nice retirement home for when I simply am not able to travel full time some time way in the distant future!

I'd do it this way because what the house is worth now to sell would probably not come close to buying it back in 20 years time.

I agree with AT. I'm pretty sure my days on the road are limited. I wouldn't mind someplace affordable to live, in a rural setting

Rent it out to SOMEONE YOU CAN TRUST and keep traveling. There's more to see than a house and a tree.
