7.0 cu ft freezer for trailer-safe/inverter

am boondocking and workamping in remote places. want install a small (7.0 cu ft) to cut trips to town. the one I looked at Home Depot
said not for use in/with rv or inverter..  Not sure what to do.. have solar and batteries.
or look for a 12v freezer?

A 120v chest freezer is worth trying. I’d buy used. If you don’t have the inverter that goes a ways to the cost of a 12v. I’d also consider how much rough driving you do.

Wow, 7 Cf freezer. I have a 4.3 CF fridge with a freezer in it but the freezer is too small for the ice cream plus other frozen stuff. I have been looking at the smaller 12 volt truck/camping freezers for supplemental freezer space. I can do two weeks with what I have but I am always out of ice cream. The 12V ones should stand up to the rigor of road vibrations better and they won't have the losses encountered by running an inverter. If you need one that big, I hope you have enough battery and solar to support it in addition to what you are already using. Home Depot is not the only store out there that carries residential type freezers. There are people that have successfully used them but I don't remember any long term reports as to how they hold up.

Yep, that is what I am considering, a CFX40. It will fit the space I have picked out for it and will hold enough.

The 40 size chest freezers hold a surprising amount of frozen food. I have the Dometic CC40 and that is in addition to the 3-way fridge that is 3.7 cf...

What vehicle/combo are you currently in? I'm mainly wondering if it's a trailer (based on your avatar image).
If it is, and you're long term at your workamp site, you probably are using your tow vehicle for town runs, and rarely would subject the fridge to rough roads. It may even be viable to empty the fridge & secure it before every major move.
I'm fridgeless, so may be missing something there.

Good luck! At this time of year, I (cheerfully/admiringly) envy those with fridges, and it makes me happy knowing that you're getting one!

That sounds like you're sacrificing all "other" frozen stuff in favor of ice cream, for which I commend you.
How much ice cream is "enough".

I have a gooseneck trailer - Sundowner - which I pull with a crew cab Dodge 2500 diesel. I have one inverter installed and another on a shelf
Have a Whynter fridge 12v, I am wanting to store more frozen veggies/food (trying to eat healthy).
Concerned that the little freezer I looked at had the warning's in bold black - no rv or inverter..
Been told the compressor type ar better.
