As I contemplate becoming a part time RVer or van dweller, I already know that twice a month I need really good internet speed to run a webinar which is my main source of income. It's through Go To Webinar and I need 5 MEG - UP and Down.

Is this possible as a boon docker (I'm assuming not), and am assuming I wouldn't get it an an RV park either with everyone logged in.

Any ideas for me on what I could do these 2-3 days per month?

If you can make a living working only 2 or 3 days a month, you are a lot smarter than me...

:p

Heading to town and finding good, free WiFi signal that reaches to the parking lot of a business might work for you. Many Home Depots have fast WiFi. Lowes does too but you get cut off after 2 hours and have to sign back in. Safeway grocery stores are good. There are others that we've used but not recently so I'm not sure if they're still good - Panera Bread, Staples, some Walmarts. Laundromats often have free WiFi so you can get two jobs done at the same time.

Is it possible as a boondocker? It depends on where you are and what service you use. All of the providers can produce those results in the proper locations and at times I am talking a considerable ways from town. Can I guaranty it everywhere at any time? No, not even having all four services. There are simply areas that I have been in that internet is such a challenge that I am lucky to read this forum and emails. Heck there were times in my house that the high speed cable was too over loaded to guaranty it.

So what to do? If you are sticking to one general area you can find what service can provide you with what you want and get it. There are less expensive options but you need to know what you need first before you go signing up for a provider. There are wireless options as mentioned above but I would want to research them before thinking I could depend on them for my income. I can imagine it would suck having to explain that you can't hold a webnar because the wireless at McDonalds is down.

Sadly, I work WAY more than those days :s , but can do with lower speed on the other days.

It's not something that can be left to chance, I spend thousands ($5,000 to be exact) advertising that one event. every second week, as I can double or triple my money, but ONLY if the webinar works properly.

Before you see too many dollar signs I have staff and LOTS of other expenses ;) .

I ran a small corporation for 31 years. The difference between gross and net can surprise you at times.

There are plenty of places where nobody has that type of bandwidth. You'll need to plan ahead, and don't plan on mooching off of free wifi. Hotels, libraries, and universities are places that might have it available, but arrange in advance. Technomadia's mobile internet site would be worth looking at/joining.
