Just a reminder this is a resource and announcement thread for the Ehrenberg encampment. Other stuff needs to find another thread.

Have to give a big shout out to Deb for the great massage and encourage others to check it out if you think you might benefit from massage therapy.

You can text her to set a meet-up time (318-789-9327) where she has her massage table set up nicely in a big tent near to the meeting table (back and to the left a little).

It was very relaxing and helpful with tension and lower back pain. She works on a donation basis.

Thanks Deb!!!

I'm not saying Deborah is a miracle worker regarding message technique, oh heck, I will. My hip has kept me from sleeping for weeks. She fixed it thru message and now it doest wake me up. .her phone contact is in Mrcap post above this one.

On Feb 12th last year several of us met at the Sizzler for Steve's birthday celebration lunch.  Steve and his dog Zeke regularly wintered in Ehrenberg with the vandwelling tribe.  He was a good friend who sadly passed earlier this year while waiting for a heart transplant.  I miss him.

To honor Steve, we will again get together for his birthday to celebrate him.  If you'd like to join us, here are the particulars --

Where:  Sizzler, 1101 W Hobsonway, Blythe.

When:  Sunday, Feb 12th at 2pm CA time (3pm AZ time).

Please PM me, or respond to this thread to let me know that you'll be there so that I can make sure we have enough space reserved.

Hope to see you there!

Thanks for sharing Suanne, I'll be there in spirit at least. I shared the same group camp a couple times with Steve, but don't think I got more than a head nod out of him. As those that knew him can probably attest, he was a very private person. And I'm sure all of his doggy friends will miss seeing Zeke in camp. RIP Steve.

For those of you in Ehrenberg, the round table is loaded with free stuff. There is a grill, a camp stove, a light, a chair, wooden box, lantern, and tons more stuff....just a heads up!

Hi all! Melissa and I have enjoyed being at Bob's camp this winter like many of you. We are headed to Baja shortly but before we go we want to take a pickup truck full of trash to the dump in Quartzsite. This is a special spot, one we are lucky to enjoy. With help we would like to take the entire burned up RV on the road in, walk the washes and take all we can to leave this place better than we found it. Remember we are all on the radar now, so let's do what we can to make this place special for years to come. Feel free to message us at [email protected] to work together and even if you can just gather trash I'll bring it to the dump. Thanks for your time. With Love.

Chris and Melissa

....the round table....

No idea what that is or where its at. We have been @Ehrenberg for a week now, and have yet to "meet" anyone from this forum. Might have seen them driving on the road or passing by on gravel roads.

If there are any other newbie types feeling lost or needing some face to face time, please feel free to PM me. I will answer when I see the message, and if you're in Ehrenberg area, we'll meet up or whatever. We are broke, but have the "funny money" (food stamps). So a shared meal is doable for us! We're weird, but the judge has declared us both "safe".... Lol.

This link has all the information.

Ehrenberg Exit 1 on south side of highway.  In the west is a truck stop, on the east is a road that paralells the higway East.  Take that.  It soon turns into gravel, and turns south into the desert.  Go up that road and you will see a Y that goes to the left.  That is a gravel quary, and someplace you do not want to be.  (Lots of dust)  You will go up a hill, and past a lot of other campers.  In the middle of a large open place, there isba crossroads with a pole with ribbons.  Take a left, and go another 1/2 mile or so.

Wish I was there this year.

OK, then it sounds like we are close, just not far enough in. Thanks for the links, and all that other personal support stuff you seem to excel at. If you ever need anything....

I got here 3 days ago - met a few folks who I've seen posting here and in Bob's videos.  I'm not sure where the round table is either - I have a few good surplus items for the taking.

My Dog, Todd, is loving it here, and the cat is digging the new territory - he's met quite a few of the other dogs and walking in the ravine in the morning is like hanging out in an incredibly landscaped garden.

If you made it down to the big camp area, I'm a newbie too - in the little grey utility trailer with the white pop-up shelter outside - stop by and say hi.

As you come in, just drive till you see a turnoff road on the left marked by ribbons, follow it and you will see the table on the left. Youll probably see Critters camp with van and cargo trailer, my dark blue van with rust colored back doors right before you reach it. If my door is open feel free to say hello.

Ian, I think that's you just across the little dirt-bike loop from me.

If you continue on down the 'road'/path that I'm (we're) right off of, heading towards the mountains to the east, the path will eventually kind of branch off. If you go left where it branches off and follow that heading back towards the main road, the table is up a little ways and on the right. I'd never seen it either before about a week or so ago.

yup, that's me. I was just admiring your trailer today - very nice rig.

Just took a drive through, met Critter and a friend of hers.Had abit of a chat with Critter, what a great attitude! Loved it.

Then I drove in further and started bottoming out the minivan...lol.

Rattlesnake cautions. Dont be afraid but be cautious. Where mice are, there will be predators. Rodents will be in the washes where the bushes are. Rattlers have been seen by the river and heard here on the plateau. You will probably never run across one, don't worry, but be aware.

How are things around Ehrenberg for ATV's? I plan on bringing mine with me.

Only good if you like riding and know how far you can go on a tank of gas..

This is just a few miles north of the interstate from the Ehrenberg camp....

I may have to follow your lead for awhile. Maybe I can keep up.

I saw two snake tracks in the ravine this morning in the soft sand.  I had a very close call with a rattler in Buckeye, so I'm super cautious now.  From what I've read, Spring and Fall are when most snakebites occur. This is also the time when they are hatching and the venom from the babies is as powerful as an adult. Lots of sightings of baby rattlers in Quartzite according to the paper there.

There are a lot of piles of burro turds down in the ravine (they are dried and no hoof prints so they've been there a while) , plus the fresh tracks of either deer or big horn sheep - I wonder if anyone has seen any.
