hey folks, I thought I'd start here as the Ford forums seem to be hit and miss on responses.

I have a 2007 E-150 bought new with about 60K + miles on it and in excellent condition.

Problem I'm concerned about is I'm starting to notice more heat transfer through the engine cover(bonnet, dog house etc) in the past year or so.

I'm not finding anything like a leak through the seal, just it gets warmer than I recall.

Does that insulation on the engine side break down with time>?  It looks good.

Thanks.

yes it breaks down over time but it's usually obvious. it just kinda disappears and you will have holes in the insulation. I guess you have ruled out that the engine is running hotter, exhaust leak, bad heater control valve, ect. highdesertranger

Indeed all systems operating as they should. In this case not obvious, still looks good but I'm definitely getting more heat than when new.

I was kinda thinking I should just go ahead and pull the OEM and re cover it with fresh insulation.

Thanks for the input Highdesertranger.
