Just like everything else, probably appx 20% of this forum's members make up 80% of the posts.

That ratio holds for many things.
In Hollywood, about 20% of all the movies make up 80% of all the revenue. (The rest don't even earn back their production costs.) In publishing, 20% of the published titles make up about 80% of all the revenue. In music, about 20% of released albums make up around 80% of the total revenue.
In business, about 20% of all companies get about 80% of all the revenue. The rest just limp along till they go broke and close down.
About 20% of all automobile models make up about 80% of the revenue.
In gambling, about 20% of casino guests provide about 80% of the gambling income.

yes that's what the video is about. Zipf's law specifically shows how language follows this pattern too. But breaks it down into detail. The other one by them about the Tarski paradox is fun too.

Heh, at the company where I work, we did an analysis of our support requests and found it was more like 1% of our users generating c.90% of support calls
