I am going to buy and convert a box truck into a full-time home and unfortunately AAA does not offer road assistance / towing for box trucks.

Can anyone recommend a service similar to AAA that works nationwide for *box trucks?

*Chevy Express or GMC Savana 2500 or 3500 single wheel box truck with 10’ or 12’ box.

Thanks🤙🏼😀

Check out Good Sam Roadside Assistance?

“For nationwide motorhome towing, consider Good Sam Roadside Assistance, Coach-Net, or RVshare's Quest roadside assistance, offering 24/7 coverage and a network of RV service providers.”

I have always had to hire a tractor trailer for heavy equipment as I had a 28’ motor home. Cost me $2,000 because the motor home was 200 miles from the place of business and was towed 70 miles and that was about two years ago. Heavy duty towing is not easy or cheap. We have Good Sam’s but they have lots of no we won’t pay clauses in their policy and really can’t recommend them if you are going to need something other than stuck on the side of the interstate heavy duty towing to the nearest repair facility sometime in the next week. Better than nothing which often ends up being nothing.

What else would you want besides towing?

First of all you won’t usually have an option to have the tow paid for beyond the “nearest” repair facility. In remote areas that could mean the one bay garage with little or no experience working on your vehicle and parts may take weeks to get shipped to them and since they have no competition their rates maybe exceptionally high. They will also possibly charge a storage fee and not allow you to access the truck while in the garage or after hours while waiting for parts. In some cases small towns you can get a ticket for not removing your vehicle from the road side within a few days. There are usually higher priced tow services available but tow insurance companies will let you sit until they can find a cheaper option even if it takes days. You may find yourself at the mercy of local police. Do your research before signing up. Most tow companies will not do recovery on an unpaved road, planning on staying on BLM land?
