    Pneumonia Vaccine

Turns out that the chicken pox vaccine they give children is likely responsible for the rise in shingles cases among adults who have had chicken pox.  The immunity acquired by having had the disease tends to gradually wane over the years.  Before the vaccine for chicken pox existed, adults had...

First post. Need help :) Dodge conversion van

Welcome, NYChaos!   I am pretty new here myself, but you can find a wealth of information by searching a topic and reading all the different posts.   The link you provided seems to be an ad for a Prius, but your thread title is about a Dodge conversion van.  If you recheck your link and post...

    Housing crisis for Londoners

Gun rights and the federal laws.

I recently learned that in England, which implemented its final step of "gun control" in 1997, a person now has no legal right to self-defense, but must accept violent attacks without doing anything which might cause harm to the attacker.  Those who cannot override their natural instincts to...

    What about medications?

Just a little background...I am an RN who trained in the 70's.  I have seen the parameters of what is "normal" for blood pressure and blood sugar be lowered over and over until almost everyone could be a candidate for medications.  And with all that, I haven't noticed people becoming any...

    The importance of ventilation.

A few years ago, I also sewed a screen for the back of our cargo trailer -- sorry, no pics at the moment.  I used duck cloth around the edges to stabilize it and provide a secure area to attach the velcro at the top and sides.  I used the inexpensive fabric garage door screens and cut them to...

    Parking an extended van

Thanks, everyone!  Nothing like advice from folks who have "been there, done that."  I truly appreciate your comments and suggestions as I hopefully move toward making a wise choice of vehicle.    :)

    Parking an extended van

For those of you with extended body vans, how difficult is it to find a parking space? More specifically, I am looking at an extended van for vacations/camping at the moment, with possible full-timing within the next year or so when I retire.  I like to visit places near beaches, and I love...

    College?

I have a son in a similar situation.  I sent him this: https://www.lewrockwell.com/2015/04/dr-sherri-tenpenny/better-than-college/ Best article I have read about this issue in a long time.  Hope there are some useful ideas here for you! RobBob

    I Really Hate . . .

Heartily agree with all of the above!  I, too, am looking for a vehicle, and frustrated by "call for price," no mileage listed, no photo or just a stock photo, too few pictures, or dark or blurry pictures, esp. on CL.   Here in the Northeast, it would be extremely helpful to have a few pictures...

Thoughts on this 1996 Dodge maxi cargo 2500

Thanks for all the suggestions, Dusty!  I like the room of a box van, but don't want to drive anything bigger than an extended van.  There are some financial limitations (about $3000 max. available right now, but am saving), so don't want to settle for something iffy now when I will have more...

    Van suggestions...

Obviously, the optimal situation would be to be able to buy a new vehicle by paying cash for it.  :-)     Not too many can afford this, though.  I can see both sides...new vehicle offers a predictable monthly payment, where a used vehicle is always somewhat of a gamble, unless one is a mechanic...

Thoughts on this 1996 Dodge maxi cargo 2500

Thanks so much for all the great information!  From the responses, it sounds like the 6 cylinder engine may be underpowered, which didn't occur to me, as it is a 2500 model, which I understand usually means a bit larger engine, heavier suspension, etc.  I didn't see a crack in the windshield...

Thoughts on this 1996 Dodge maxi cargo 2500

https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/cto/5021982378.html There are not many pictures, but I am thinking about taking a look.  I realize the price is over KBB, but this is the second time it has been listed, so I'm figuring I have some room to bargain. Are there any particular pitfalls with this...

    e350 passenger vans

Someone on this forum pointed out that passenger vans generally are less beat up, because they carry people and not loads of potentially very heavy cargo. I, too, am debating passenger van vs. cargo van. A pre-finished interior with all the windows is nice & convenient, but seems less...

Another Walmart RV Shooting, Salem Oregon

If people are unethical enough to entice gullible folks to stage incidents, how could they be trusted to protect those patsies when push comes to shove?  A patsy who has been killed or locked up by police can't tell tales.  I'm not saying that's what happened, but it is feasible. RobBob

Another Walmart RV Shooting, Salem Oregon

This is concerning.  People who think and live independently are being increasingly targeted as suspicious and potentially dangerous.  If enough events happen, the government could whip up public opinion and potentially pressure Walmart to discontinue their policy to allow overnight camping "for...

questions about this 1988 Dodge B-150

https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/cto/4977034911.html The ad does not say how many miles this has.  I do like the color and body style, but is it too old?  How hard is it to find parts when you need them, and people who know how to repair them (I do not)?  It seems a little pricey, but...
