Patience is the key!&nbsp; It's so hard not to get frustrated and give up, which confuses the dog and puts you&nbsp;back to square one.&nbsp; They need structure and leadership&nbsp;just like kids do.&nbsp; But it sounds like you're off to a good start!&nbsp; Good luck!

As with anything in life there really is no magic solution other than&nbsp;solving the problem&nbsp;the "hard way"&nbsp;by having to actually train your dog.&nbsp; In my experience with dog behavior issues there is no easy way out.&nbsp; If it's easy then it's not worth doing!&nbsp;

I've used citronella collars for my dogs.&nbsp; They work, but the dogs have learned how loud the whine/bark needs to be in order for the collar to spray.&nbsp; Unfortunately they still can get away with a low whine, so it might not work if you need your dog to be completely quiet.&nbsp; But...

We will definitely be boondocking out west since we're starting from Washington, so it's good to know that there are still many possibilities for semi-remote locations to stay in a class c.

Thanks for the friendly welcome everyone! The "planning" can better be summed up as basically saving money and getting rid of possesions....when that's accomplished then we will definitely be taking the plunge!
