How do u live on $700/month, truly?

Wherer I live, there is a volunteer fire department only, and they have no obligation to put out your house fire. They do it because they want to help the community. They should not be forced to. It's YOUR responsibility to protect your own home. You can ask for help, but to demand it, to...

How do u live on $700/month, truly?

If I send men with guns to make you mow my yard, repair my car, or stitch up a cut in my arm, that's slavery.

If healthcare is a basic human right that everyone is entitled to, then slavery is legal. You'd be forcing someone to labor for you without compensation. That's the very definition of slavery.

North Alabama. But prices have skyrocketed since I bought my land.

My experience is just the opposite. Everywhere I looked Land was mostly unregulated. Now, mind you, I was looking for raw land. I looked in most of the SE US, Montana, Wyoming, and Alaska. Once you leave the city limits, it's almost always unregulated.

This is how I've done it. I've lived on $735 a month, plus yearly cost of living raises for several years now. As of January, that will be $914 a month. I saved every penny I could until I could buy 2 acres of land. That cost me $5,000. It took me about 3 years. I lived in my truck until I...

    "It's time to cancel campfires"

Well, it seems the finger is being pointed at campers and their tiny little fires when the real problem is government and their ineptitude.

    "It's time to cancel campfires"

We have forest fires because we extinguish forest fires.  Natural forest fires are good for forests, whether it be for seed-spreading or tree thinning so the forest doesn't become too dense.  When we don't let nature take its course, brush builds up, forest fires have way more fuel than they...

    Late night intruder

I'm pretty sure sneaking into someone else's campsite and filming them without their permission is against the rules. I don't suggest you try that at mine.  If you think they are doing something they shouldn't, alert the authorities, vigilantism is a good way to get killed.

    Late night intruder

So, it's okay for you to sneak into their campsite, but not the other way around?

Incident on the land I just bought. At a loss.

    I didn't suggest anything illegal.

It's not to be taken literally. But if someone tried to force their way into my vehicle, on my property, the situation would be resolved. The sheriffs department wouldn't even be involved, other than to haul off the garbage. Self defense is still legal here.

    Roof leak

It's not condensation. It's a leak. The panels have been up there for about 4 years now and it's just starting to leak. I am not 100% positive that's where it's leaking from, but I don't know where else it could be. When the 40 days and night of this rain stops, I'll try and get a better look.

    Roof leak

I did. I drilled holes, filled them full of Dicor, screwed them down and covered with more Dicor.

    Roof leak

My roof just developed a small leak.  I'm pretty sure it's leaking around a screw or screws that are holding my solar panels down.   Can I just Dicor around those or do I need to replace the screws and recaulk it?  Thanks.

Anyone dwelling in an e150 conversion / camper?

I wasn't towing anything.  It's a 1995 model.  It had about 160k miles when I bought it, I put less than a thousand miles on it before it blew up.  It just started smoking and began to lose power.  I have it parked at a friend's house while I am saving up to get it fixed.  It's been parked since...

I have an E-250. It's currently parked because the transmission blew up and I'm broke.

There are still cars 60 years old and older on the streets. There won't be any problem finding a normal vehicle.
