A locker emulates a "spool" which lock an axle 100% of the time, and are designed for drag racing.  Lockers for street use have a ratcheting feature, so going around corners is done without dragging a tire.  I haven't gotten it yet, but the Powertrac No-Slip is supposed to have a quieter ratchet.

    Heavy handed moderation

As to "the dude's beef", my guess is that he may have had one or more posts deleted. As a veteran of over 20 forums (active daily on 4 or 5), I can say this The fairest method of moderation doesn't single out one person. If a thread goes south, it should be locked. Singling out one person only...

    Sophia's Hauler...

You might ask Ron if his buddy with the junk yard has any. But I don't know when he'll be going back there, he's had his hands full lately. That, and he's getting ready for an R/C plane event.

    Sophia's Hauler...

I would think rear windows that open might be a good thing. I don't have a big bottle of profane, but I leave mine open most all of the time. Rain never comes in, and it creates a positive air flow when I even crack the front window. And it also alleviates excess turbulence when the front...

An ELocker will be more, because of the "E" part. Electric and air lockers are always more money, and more labor to install. The No-Slip is about $200 less than a Truetrac.

It seems you've solved your dome light issue, congrats. And the cabinet work looks good. Despite the warmer weather here as well, I've only managed to watch cat videos on YouTube.

Pros/Cons of converting passenger van vs cargo van? (newbie alert!)

Having owned both, I like the window van better. It comes with minimal insulation, and being able to see while moving is great. No windows for a rear passenger, not so much.

Question for 1 ton 3500 Chevy van owners.

I really spelled it wrong, but spellcheck "corrected" it for me. And it is a word. It's just not the word I wanted to use. http://www.dictionary.com/browse/braggadocios

Both the 9.5 and 10.5 are 14 bolt. As far as the aftermarket stuff goes, there seems to be two different 9.5s, with the change happening somewhere in the late 90s.  And according to these same application charts, the use of the 9.5 stopped around '13/'14, at least as far as the Express 3500...

    Chevy Express Rear Differential Info

Terry(Ratfink56) ran my VIN (dealer), and told me I have the 9.5. And the RPO sticker showed no G80, which is not available with the 9.5 anyways. I had researched this to death, and only had a mildly educated guess. FYI, the G80 isn't a locker, it's a limited slip. And reviews say that it...

Question for 1 ton 3500 Chevy van owners.

So, what you're saying is that the 4 speed trans is a bit braggadocios? My 3500 has the 6 speed, so I don't have the noise.  But I do love it.  And it loves 70mph.  It's been a few years since I had a V8.

    Chevy Express Rear Differential Info

I've looked at Yukon, Eaton(Detroit Locker) and Powertrax. Yukon seems to only have a L/S kit, but no locker for my diff. When I thought I had a different diff, I seem to remember their locker being for racing only. I like the Powertrax No-Slip for it's claim of being for a daily driver...

If you end up removing/replacing the latch, find some way to disable the child lock. Those things are more trouble than they're worth. And I'm sure Sophie is smart enough to not open the door at speed.

The lazy man’s cargo trailer conversion

That's exactly the sort of stuff I was thinking. It wouldn't take a large hole, and you could do some sort of "pastry bag" to get it in. Gravity will do the trick, so a hole at the bottom wouldn't be needed. It seems to me that the hardest part would be sourcing the material. I'm a bit...

The lazy man’s cargo trailer conversion

Just read your thread, beginning to end. I'm somewhat new here. Good build. And sorry for your loss. A thought on insulation. When I was a kid, we had insulation installed in our house. "Blown in" was what they called it. They drilled about 3" holes, top and bottom between each stud(no fire...

    2006 CHEVY EXPRESS AWD

And FYI, AWD means all 4 tires must match. Size, Make/model, and mileage (to a certain point. If you need to replace one, you can do it if there's less than 10k on the others)
