    Need RV "Scissor Steps" Recommendations

Wow, I hadn't considered an option like that - seems kind of brillant. Thanks!

    Need RV "Scissor Steps" Recommendations

Where are these welded steps kept on the internets? I'd love to have a look-see at them. Thanks!

    Need RV "Scissor Steps" Recommendations

I have no experience at all with scissor steps (or any other type) - it's my first foray into RV stairs shopping.

    Need RV "Scissor Steps" Recommendations

I do have a massive cargo ramp tucked under the box, but I don't want to roll that out to get in and out on the daily (it's heavy and reeeeeally long). The stairs would be mounted to the rear of the box (either right or left side - haven't decided) to allow access to the truck bed interior -...

    Need RV "Scissor Steps" Recommendations

I'm hoping to tap into the collective knowledge of my nomadic brethren on what the best option is for "scissor steps" currently on the market. I measured the height of the entrance to my box truck (38" from the ground) and a four or a five step (or more?) model might be best. I prefer manual...

    My new home!

Thanks! I'll be documenting the process from start to finish - I've had a couple of false starts in other vehicles, but this will be the biggest and most "legit" project to date!

    My new home!

Yep! Sliding door. Can't wait to share a tour when the build is complete!

    My new home!

Hey CRVL fam! I just got the keys today to my future digs - a 2004 Ford E-350 Super Duty diesel 6.0L with 174,000 miles. I don't think I'll sleep tonight for the excitement. I have T-minus two weeks to transform the box from a bare shell to a studio apartment on wheels. Woo!  :D

It -really- sucks when you look for support here and there is none

The most helpful of Bob's videos for me when I was starting out with few physical and financial resources was the "no-build van build" episode:  If OP ever comes back, maybe they'll find it useful - I know I did.

Need solar advice for student in minivan

Wow, Alpicool for the win! I checked out the C15 and it seems decent. I swear, this "journey" is really guiding me toward the idea of a more minimalistic approach than the one I had originally mapped out. I mean, I'm going down a rabbit hole here - it seems the more I think I need, the less I...

Need solar advice for student in minivan

Thanks for the advice - this sounds completely do-able. Do you have any further advice and/or experience with this? I'm wondering what sort of battery size(s)/capabilities I would need for the juicer (120V 200W running 2-3 minutes once per day). Thanks again for your kind consideration. :)

Need solar advice for student in minivan

Hi CRVL! I’m a student about to move into my minivan (can't afford the cost of living in my city), with daily access to campus facilities (showers, charging for my laptop and camera batteries, WIFI access, etc). When I’m in the van, it will be primarily to sleep, or to run an errand or two a...

    Info On Common Minivans

Thanks, Brian, that information is relevant and extremely helpful! It'll be just me in the van - so long as I can remember to swivel the chair 180 only, I'm in good shape.

    Info On Common Minivans

Thanks so much for sharing your vast knowledge! I inherited a 2010 Toyota Sienna and was wondering whether I'm able to install a swivel seat on the front passenger side. Through my internet research, it seems the most common option is to contact a mobility/accessibility dealer. I'd prefer a...

    WOMEN ONLY!!! Female Urination Devices

I chose the AquaEveGo - it was designed by a female occupational therapist. It works well in any position (standing, squatting, or lying down) and is contoured for a comfortable "fit". I'm in a compact SUV and I have mobility challenges so the flexibility to use it lying down was important in my...

    Video Editing Software

I've just started using Filmora a couple of months ago - so far, I really like it. There are lots of tutorials on YouTube to will you through just about any task.

Cast Iron, Aluminum, or stainless steel?

I've read several studies recently that say cooking with cast iron or real copper on a daily basis can result in too much of these metals in a person's bloodstream. In the case of copper, the effects can be dangerous and too much iron can wreak havoc on your organs. Using cast iron once a week...

Vehicle GPS Navigation Units - which ones are best?

I probably can't go higher than $150 - lifetime updates would be helpful, and traffic would be nice but isn't a deal-breaker.

Vehicle GPS Navigation Units - which ones are best?

I'm searching for a decent vehicle satellite navigation unit - they can be a bit pricey, so I want to be extra careful choosing the best one for the price. Using my smartphone for navigation isn't an option for me. Has anyone used a particular model that they love or hate? Any advice is...

Heating when you can't afford a Mr. Buddy

Anyone heard of the idea of changing one's consciousness to stay warm? There's an article in Popular Science that mentions a study that found Tibetan nuns can change their core body temperature by up to almost 101 degrees F with a certain type of mediation called "g-tummo". That, and some wool...
