What will you always have in your camp kitchen

When I first started out as a car liver, I had granola and bananas.  got tired of that quick. Now I go to Winco, a market that has lots of bulk.  I get dried blue berries, strawberry cranberris, raisons and walnuts.  Start out by putting some fruit and nuts in your bowl then add some cheap...

Women Only: Input on retirement income welcome

It makes 3 years I've been living in a station wagon.  I sleep well in the back, parked at DSHS parking lot at night only.  Still have to pay for a storage room $71, and my gas bill is more than when I had an apt.  It averages $200 a month. On the good side, I've lost 30 lbs and kept it off...

    Solo women RVers

I'm a solo woman RVer in a station wagon.  There are lots of older citizens at your local Sr Ctr which often has lunches.  Another place our single seniors meet is for morning walks inside the mall.  And the casinos are great for overnight parking and they usually have senior days.

    Youtubers you love

Three years in my Volvo this summer.  I've learned to do some minor repairs, changing air filters, pulling out the dashboard.  You get closer to your vehicle.  I've been looking at vans, but the Volvo is running fine at 130K.  You've got to be very organized, every day.

What to do with wet rags?

You're sweet.  I did hang my swimsuit from the window one evening, then forgot and drove into McD and parked.  This man said, "you have an article of clothing hanging from your car."  And the thing still wasn't dry.  Don't want to obstruct my vision as I change spots often.

What to do with wet rags?

BEST REPLY Good cost saving suggestion about them supplying the rags.  Maybe they'll get some nice ones.  I use disposable only when cleaning the toilets.  Especially the ones that know I am homeless, they should supply.  Except I have a special mop and would have to give them a mop head or...

What to do with wet rags?

I'm living out of a Volvo wagon, with part time cleaning jobs. What to do with these wet rags that I have rinsed out after cleaning people's homes, or my car.  Then I have a wet swim suit and towel from the gym. Oh, I've tried placing them under the car's heater vent and they could stay there a...

Women's Forum: Question for the crafty artsy type

Hi There, I too have a storage room that I need to downsize.  It have a fancy sewing machine, lots of material, glues, sea shells. Just made some curtains with duck cloth for this van. I learned there are two types of canvas.  Also put my engraved name at bottom (upside down), a mistake.  It...

Completed the curtain for the back, for privacy, does look a bit perverted closed.  This is duck cloth, thicker than regular canvas.  Engraved my initials at the bottom (upside down). Will have to make some sort of ties backs. What do I work on next?  I can do material, got lots of leather.

Thought sure I would have this back curtain completed by now.  Only have one panel done.  Looks better with rod across the top.  I like this canvas, the bottom is finish  View from the inside.  Slight problem, when I went to buy more material, I didn't notice till I got home and handled it, that...

So True.  Not sure where to put reply. This is the material I will go with, beige canvas.  I will have two panels like this to make lots pleats.  Also the top has to have a small curtain rod, a string hangs awkwardly.  I must leave here June 5, so have lots to do.  Back to fabric store.

Not sure if I'm putting my reply in the correct location.? OMG, that two vehicle problem is giving me anxiety.  Big Freightliner monster and my Volvo.  Yes, I figured I'd have to catch a bus a few times.  I was planning that I would park, say at Walmart, then just park the Volvo at a closed...

Those look pretty comfy.  Right now keeping gallon baggies on board will had to do for a while.  Just realized I need to cover the back window with a curtain of sorts for privacy, and another curtain type to make privacy behind the seats.  I have material.  The brown material is a leatherette. ...
