    New drain issue.

So in the last several days I have noticed that, for some reason, my battery charge isn't lasting as long as it used to. In fact, it's lasting maybe 2/3rds as long as it was even a week ago. I haven't added any additional drains on the system recently nor have I changed the wiring since a...

Might as well buy a house!

I guess this technically qualifies as a trailer? But sheesh...might as well be a house. Three axles and has to be pulled with a Semi. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/the-cmc-valiha-is-a-luxury-mega-trailer-designed-like-a-15-million-work-of-art-205592.html

    Weird happenings on Amazon

Is anyone else having strange things happening on Amazon? For me it's delivery dates. It doesn't matter what I look at...be it heaters, pillows, coffee cups, candles, lights, solar panels, solar panel stands... regardless of what I look at the estimated delivery date is Nov 21st.

Wow, Nevada residency is apparently expensive!!

Not the paperwork part, but the staying somewhere for 30 days part...I just don't have the funds to do Nevada. So I guess I will be heading to South Dakota in a couple weeks...really didn't want to travel that far right now...

    About my charge controller

So I have a epever 3210an charge controller and I am looking at solar panels on Santan's website...and getting slightly confused on voltages. Which voltage rating should I be looking at to determine whether the charge controller can handle the input from the panels?

There is always that one thing...

Is it just me, or is there always that one thing that no matter how many times you replace it it always ends up coming up missing? For me it's tape measures. I swear they just really don't like me so they grow legs and run away. Seriously. I bought one before I hit the road and have bought...

    Debating which to do first.

So I am debating whether to do the "house build" or solar first. I  might be able to do both next month depending on what I have to spend to get it done.. Considerations: Electrical system: I already have a 100ah Ampere Time battery, charge controller, 15 foot solar cable extensions, 1000...

    AC system completely shot.

So I had my van in the shop a week or two ago for an oil change and to get the AC checked out. Well, according to them there are leaks -everywhere- and many of the seals are shot as well as the compressor. They quoted 2 grand for repairs. Hell I can get all the parts on Rockauto for less than...

    Solar Generator possible issue

Not sure whether this is normal or not...but when I have my solar generator plugged in to a power port in my van the plug gets pretty hot. Is this normal or do I need to work on something? For reference it's a Bluetti EB70S 716wh.

Recommendations on getting a roof rack put on

So I have a 2005 Kia Sedona that I purchased back in December. Only real issue I have with it is that it does not have a roof rack. The reason this is an issue is that I want something to install my flexible solar panels to (though I'm considering using the flexibles as portables and getting...

    Connecting solar panels

Below is what I am wanting to end up with. My goal is to increase the watt output while keeping the voltage the same. I know I will need at least 2 mp4 extension cables (one for pos an one for neg) to go from this to the electrical setup. Where I am unsure is what I need to use for the green...

    Opinions on a backup generator

Considering purchasing this generator as a backup (and to use until I can get solar set up). Would like some opinions on it if possible...

    Finally purchased a van.

So I finally purchased a mini-van. IMO I got a great deal on it. It's a 2005 Kia Sedona that's in great shape inside and out and only had 188k miles on it. Picked it up for $2950. Pictures to follow. :)

    Emergency fund

Quick question (not trying to be nosy, genuinely asking so I can plan accordingly). It's going to be several months before I get on the road (don't even have a van yet) and am currently gathering information on important topics. Regarding an emergency fund...is it better to keep it in your...

Escapees.com worth it for van dwellers?

So I've been looking over the escapees.com web site and it looks like they do a LOT for a low yearly fee.   However, I notice they seem to be geared toward RVers and some of the benefits appear to be specific to that group.  For example, their deal with Goodyear tires specifically mentions 'RV...

I want to make sure I have this correct.

I will soon be getting things together to hit the road and I want to make sure I have some things right before I start planning the electrical system. Sizing the battery system: 1. I am considering LifePo4 for the batteries (though having looked around a little I see they are a bit...

Finally back...man has it been a time.

Finally back...though most may not remember me...it's been a few years. Life majorly got in the way on my way to the road.  Without going into too much boring detail, I've lost the truck and now have to start again from scratch. The current situation: I'm back in the homeless shelter and...

    Stand up and dance.

For the longest time one of my main theme songs has been Stand by Rascal Flatts (   ).  Just re-watched Bob's video about dancing with the pain and hardship that life sometimes throws at us (one day I will tell my story...but suffice to say I have had my fair share of both). This got me to...
