This sounds intriguing, thank you! Although, I am having a hard time finding on the map. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. I'm also not used to finding these out of the way places on Google maps. Most of my camping was done in pre-google days and now I've been using freecampsites.net and luck...
Thank you! Yes, I do have 4 doors and now I can see that would work!
Victorville.....hadn't thought of Victorville. I guess I should just check with freecampsites? Funny, Sedona was the first place I thought of but one of the weather apps that I checked said it might snow! I'm not feeling like...
Hello,
I am still mostly a lurker on this forum and haven't posted much, but I thought I would ask you all for some advice.
My situation: I live in L.A. and hate it. Not going to be able to be a full-time Nomad just yet, so until then, and to keep my sanity, I need to take semi regular...
I just left from the Sedona/Cottonwood area.....I would've loved to meet you. I was on FR525 (about 4 miles in, I think) off of the 89A. It was gorgeous with amazing views. I highly recommend it.
I sent a request for a price. They are selling 2010 vans (Dodge Caravans?) with a range of 150,000 to 180,000 miles going for $9,500 to $11,500. They will paint it white or any color of your choosing. If you don't want the "penthouse" they can remove it for $500 less.
All vans sold AS IS but...
Yes, I noticed that today too.
I look every day-ish, for my regular dose of inspiration and will rewatch many of them. I'm bummed. I hope they show up again soon.
Yogidog, thank you for your supportive words. Yes under thirty........smh...
I am back now from my dispersed camping trip into Sedona. Despite the fiasco with my niece, I would say it was a huge success. I had intended to post in this Captain's log more but I ended up choosing to be frugal with...
Thank you everyone, for your replies. :-)
I ended up trying it out on a camping trip last week and I must say.....I really enjoyed sleeping in my Versa!
It did take some fanagling though. I pushed the front seat forward and then the seat back all the way down (taking the headrest off first)...
Yogidog, I didn't see that thread, where is it?
I know, crazy winds. Found out it was the tail end of a hurricane or something?......lol! I did say I wanted an adventure!
My niece and I had a great time.....until she started to be a pain. She is very often very rude and doesn't see it. But...
so, yesterday, we barely made it to a site before it started getting dark. All the equipment I have is borrowed, like the tent. My niece wanted to stay in the tent and not be alone, so I gave up on the plan to try out sleeping in the car.
However, the winds collapsed our tent. Probably had it up...
Hello everyone!
Not a huge Captain's log here, but I thought I should commemorate my first step towards intentional nomad-hood. This is a baby-step practice run.
So, my niece and I are off to Sedona/Cottonwood right now and are planning to camp for the week. We stayed last night at my Dad's...
thank you for all the replies! :-)
I think I am going to have to find out for myself. I will bring a tent just in case.
In the meantime, I am drooling over every Van, RV, Trailer I see....lol.
anewbiewannabe, here,.... you can borrow a snuggle with my love-bug baby. :) Her name is Kali and she will definitely be coming with us if we ever go full-time RVing.
I'm still new here so I hope I am posting the pic correctly....
Has anyone here ever slept in a Nissan Versa hatchback? I'm going camping next week and I think I want to try it. The front seats fold down flat and I can fully lay out. I think it will be more comfortable than a tent. Am I crazy?
Alas! I don't have an RV/truck/Van/Camper yet!
Hi! I am excitedly getting ready for a quickie camping trip with my niece to Sedona/Cottonwood. I'm looking at this and subsequent camping trips as a prep for possibly going full-time in an RV, as a retirement plan (my honey is skeptical. Basically, I need to build the dream and he will come). ...
No hunting for gold...wish I had. But I did fish for the first time in my life. And, not on the first time but probably the third time out fishing, I caught a 40 lb King Salmon! And it was at the fishing hole on the Homer Spit....kinda like combat fishing, so I was pretty lucky. It sure was...
Hello! I thought I would finally come out of lurker-land and introduce myself. I chose the name “Mystic” as it was the nickname given to me when I was solo-backpacking through Alaska in the mid-90s.
I have been obsessed with watching all of the Enigmatic Nomadics videos and any other...
