    Fines from recent RTR

Dear Bob, Saw the youtube post about the bust...very sorry that happened to you guys...so disappointing.  Please let me know if the fine is aggressive.  I would be happy to donate.  I know how difficult it is to take a leadership position and then how that feels when the plans go south.  I...

    Womens rtr?

I will be out at Lake Navajo on the New Mexico/Colorado border in mid to late August.  The south side of the lake has "official campsites" and there are plenty of boondocking places along the lake using back roads.  My daughter lives on 5 acres north of the lake in Ignacio, CO so if its all...

    Womens rtr?

Unfortunately, going to miss Flagstaff RTR, would love to have the opportunity for an Oct/Nov Texas RTR.  I'm in Houston.  Dry camping no problem for me.  Also a DIY girl so would love to see your place.

    Solar and Wind combination

I've actually been trying to make my way through all of the "how to's" on the site before asking redundant questions :), my next was going to be about batteries and then I found it!!  Thanks again for all the great info. in readable organized format...

    Solar and Wind combination

They emailed me the specifications, BUT the rotors are the size of a forearm...I also think the length of the pole is due to the assumption that it needs to clear a roof line of a house to get the wind.  Probably fine lower to the ground in high wind areas like the SW.  May get the combo but...

Building a cabin on a flatbed truck?

I am going to build one on a Harbor Freight trailer.  I am going to make it into a collapsible flatpack so it is like the ice shacks up north.  This will transport better but also give me something more stout against high winds in the desert.

    Solar and Wind combination

I've emailed them to get an actual size on the windmill.  I checked out Bob's info. on wind and it looks like it needs a pretty long pole so I dont know if it would be reasonable for my Chevy Yukon...I just cant resist the multifunctionality of it.

    Solar and Wind combination

Was wondering if anyone had an opinion on solar/wind combos?  This is what I am looking at knowing that we will end up in the Southwest eventually.... https://www.amazon.com/ECO-WORTHY-Volt-Solar-Power-System/dp/B00ZECMODU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1465494421&sr=8-2&keywords=SOLAR+WIND It's a...

Thank you for this site and youtube videos

I have started working on my rig but will have a month gap while I am on an "out of town" assignment.  Should I post some "before" pictures now or just wait until I've made some significant progress so that I can show some differences.  I am not only fixing up my rig but building a Harbor...

Thank you for this site and youtube videos

Probably Bob overall because they are not only interesting but also extremely informative.  I am new to youtube so still scanning and subscribing.  Open to any suggestions.  I am less for discussion and more for "how to" currently.  I've picked up great tips but I must say the most from Bob.

    The Colorado mid/late summer RTR

I was planning on Lake Navajo down way south but could come up to Gunnison instead.  I'm a newbie so will be the first time out with my new set up and your group, if invited.  Will most likely be overpacked...   2000 4x4 Yukon, snow tires.  I am hoping to build a Harbor Freight trailer by...

Interested in camping at Lake Navajo on Colorado, New Mexico border in mid-August

I dont know proper protocol yet for this forum as a newcomer but thought I would mention that I plan on camping out at Lake Navajo on the border between Colorado and New Mexico in mid to late August.  Ignacio, Colorado would be the meet up location and then caravan out on the oil rig roads to...

Thank you for this site and youtube videos

Dear Bob, I feel like I know you now that I have watched so many videos.  As a mother of four, I have never had the time to watch ANY youtube videos but right now I am laid up with a pinched nerve and have found peace, solace and hope in your channel.  I am in this state because of the current...
