    Hammock as a bed

I was just about to mention you and your setup Gargoyle. FYI "Almost There" also attends the Michigan Fall Chili Hang (though she missed last year!).

    Custom build resources?

The teardrop and tiny trailer forum has very good documentation on the "foamie" (Foam + some kind of skin like cloth or window screen) process. http://tnttt.com/viewforum.php?f=55 They actually use it for the structural part of the trailer. So building with skin + foam can withstand going down...

    really nice cabinet building method

The original method uses thinned waterproof wood glue (Titebond II) + canvas tarps or bed sheets instead of gripper/fiberglass screen. I am sure there are some Canadians in that forum as well if you are looking to source local materials. http://tnttt.com/viewforum.php?f=55

    Step/Box truck recommendations?

I was under the impression that the cab and box move independently and have separate walls. Creating a pass through would need to be flexible to deal with the separate flexing.

    Step/Box truck recommendations?

None of the mover style trucks I have seen have a pass through from the cab. Has anyone seen a pass through box truck from Penske/Budget/U-Haul?

I have been trolling craigslist, but another source to look through is definitely welcome!

    Step/Box truck recommendations?

I haven't seen many with the barn doors. The couple I have seen so far that have barn doors are the utility type trucks with lots of outside cabinets. I guess I could glue the doors of the cabinets shut and cut out the interior bump-outs to get the interior space back. Living in a smaller city...

    Step/Box truck recommendations?

Lack of depreciation is very bad when you are planning to drive it into the ground. If you spend lots of money & time customizing it, you aren't going to ever sell it, and if you are, certainly not going to be able to get the money back out of it. I haven't heard of cities banning overnight...

    Step/Box truck recommendations?

My wife and I have purchased a very gently used ancient Road Trek popular 190. It has been an absolute hit for taking it on vacations. Unfortunately, the layout has lots of wasted space and not much room for storage, solar, batteries, etc. With a thought towards preparing for full timing in a...

    Plywood alternative?

No idea about the hoof glue, but I imagine it would. So long as it A) attaches the cloth to the foam and B) stiffens the cloth dramatically. I would do a test piece and see how well it holds up. Also, from quick reading, hoof glue doesn't like to get wet, so under mattress might have issues...

    Plywood alternative?

Poor man's fiberglass is using canvas (drop cloth from lowes or fabric store or bed sheets, etc) + wood glue. Coat your standard blue or pink foam board (2 or 3 in thick) with a layer or 2 of canvas soaked through with wood glue. People make teardrop trailers from foam + poor man's fiberglass...

Pros & Cons of going with a Truck & Slide-In Camper Rig?

If you want to spend some time doing a DIY version, you can build it out of foam & poor-man's fiberglass. Here is a build thread for a guy doing one for his '98 Tacoma 2.4L and ~400 lbs: http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=64361 "Foamies" give lots of good insulation since it is built...

    Full Time On A Motorcycle

Don't know how much you read on the hammock forums, but just to prevent you some additional time if you forgot to order some key items or for anyone else reading your thread, here is a quick primer for hammocking: If you ordered a double layered hammock, you have the choice of using a sleeping...
