    Window sills/frames?

On my high top, my windows are surrounded with 1" of rtech and 1/4 wood. There is an obvious 1" uncovered area around the window and the insulation is clearly visible ... not too mention, the wood cut around the window is not the straightest.   :dodgy: Does anyone have any ideas on how to...

    Insulating a High Top

Decision made: I went with one inch rtech between the wood boards then 1 inch of rtech over that. Then 1/4 birch plywood was fastened over the rtech. Next I will stain and polyurethane the wood. Photos of top

    Insulating a High Top

Thanks JonyJoe, Keeping cool (cooler?) in the VA heat is my goal. I think insulation between and over the wood is probably a must.

    Insulating a High Top

Hi all, I could use some input. I am going to insulate my Fiberine High Top and cover the insulation with 1/4 luan. I have decided to use 3/4" rigid polyiso. My question is how to deal with the sides. The sides of the top are reinforced with 2 planks of 1" by 6" wood planks. (See attached)  What...

Thanks. That appears to be the case. I'm trying to avoid that for now ...   :-/

    More ideas needed

Well, I cannot decide what kind of kitchen cabinets to install so I'm going to use bins for storage until I do decide. I do have a platform bed that I can secure some bins underneath it. But, what is the best way to secure bins (or my cooler) in the area between the bed and cab? I have a wooden...

    What to do?

Well I took a closer look. Definitely not enough room to curl up in there! Have decided on something similar to AT's build (thank you!) but less involved ... I'm going to lay carpet on the bottom, insulate the ceiling and sides, install luan, and then install a wood beam across the entire...

    What to do?

Ford E350 RB, 20” fiberglass high top, no pop-up .... I might be able to sleep up there if curled in a fetal position. I have some photos somewhere ... I’ll try to post them.

    What to do?

Hi all, I had a high top installed on my van and I am trying to decide what to do with the area over cab. I’d like to have a storage area up there. Do I insulate? Frame it out? Put carpet on the ceiling? What have others done to convert that area? Thanks in advance!

    2001 Chevrolet Express 2500 - "Chief Dave"

Such a bummer! I *hate* thieves! How did they gain entry?   On my van I am planning on replacing the locks so they cannot be popped, adding glass breakage/motion alarms, and adding a Ravelco device.  It is a truly a PITA, but if someone really wants the van or the stuff in it they will find a...

There's a guy in Colorado who sells 24" high tops at a much more reasonable price. You may want to give him a call. He'll also install the top for you at his Loveland, CO location (closer than CA) or ship it to your location (or TCI). And, I read something from Mark on another forum that...

my credit union won't finance a cargo van purchase..

X2 for USAA. My loan officer and I had a wonderful discussion about my plans to convert my cargo van. No problems there at all. I also told my insurance agent (also USAA). They will cover the first $5000 of items in my van ... after that I need a special rider. They had no concerns at all about...

Cool project! The prof may not be tenued. If she’s an associate/assistant Prof her salary is way way less.

Yep, I’m the other member that had my top installed at TCI in PA in Nov. 2017. They did a fantastic job and I highly recommend them. Below is the link to my review. https://vanlivingforum.com/showthread.php?tid=28538
