    hola from New Jersey

Welcome. Nice to meet another East Coast dweller. I'm currently pre-build myself, sill gathering funds and knowledge. Lots of people dont "get it" but that's why they have the option to choose what works for them. There's alway the quick escape of a few days away even if you can't go full time.

Why curtains for the front vs Reflectix

Keep an eye out for Honda Oddessy second row seats. Known to be very comfortable and adaptable to front seat replacement usage as the have built in shoulder/lap belts. A pair of those and swivels will see you sitting pretty.

Propane stove - looking for recommendations

I also really like Cowboy Kent Rollins https://youtube.com/c/CowboyKentRollins He has a great videos (10) on buying, seasoning, cleaning, and restoring seasoning cast iron. Most of his cooking and originates off grid, on the trail in a chuck wagon, so is applicable here. I love me some cast...

    Upgrades to my RV

My (limited) understanding is that it will limit the charge rate to the lower of the voltages, so you would only lose those 2v.  If one charged at 50v and the other at 25v and you use both at once on the same controller you would be limited to 25v for each panel. Experts, please correct me...

Want to Buy High Top Van ASAP

Ric, If your budget is decent you should check out rental agencies that sell their vans used. I believe Enterprise sells the 350 Transit High Roof ones regularly. Also check Uhaul and the other rental places. That will likely save you the depreciation.  For prebuilt vans check out the van rental...

    Upgrades to my RV

From what Ive read, the recommendation is to have 2x as much solar as battery. So a 105 usable ah battery bank should have a minimum of 200 watts of solar, 200ah=400w, etc. Also voltage impacts rate of charge, higher is faster, but may require a mppt solar controller.

    Upgrades to my RV

Looks good. Triangles are always strong.  You can likely reiplicate the same thing with $15 worth of hardware from the store if you are DIY inclined, otherwise its not a crazy price from Renogy.

Stepvan, box truck or other- how did you decide your vehicle?

Sephson- Keep an eye on FB marketplace and ebay and auctions and Craigslist for used school busses, especially the 5-6 window variety. You can easily register them as motorhomes through Vermont, even though you are likely not a resident. Scheck the Skoolie.net forum for reg/insurance info.

    Upgrades to my RV

You can likely add a couple of hinges onto the frame on the back with a couple of legs or a U or H shaped brace. It would allow for adjustment of angles. H or U shaped legs would be stronger because of the bracing, the difference between them being that U might require level ground vs H.

Can anyone recommend someone who can install a fan in a fiberglass hi-top in Phoenix

I know Jamie is heading your way, to the Quartzite / Ehrenberg area. Google Enigmatic Nomadics. He said something about 50% off his labor this winter. He is extremely experienced in van builds from what I know. I just looked at his site and he's charging$75 for a fan install...

If you paid with a credit card or PayPal I would call and dispute the charge.

The Disadvantages of Modifying an Old Ambulance

Awesome! I've been wanting to find a 7.3 ambulance or shuttle for conversion. Ambo has all that easily adapted storage & exterior access.  Good luck & keep us informed. If you come across a good candidate for me around $5k, please pm me.

    Looking for opinions on heaters

Something like what Slim Potatohead is doing? He just released a 2 part video of his experience and experiments in using a suitcase diesel with his fiberglass trailer. Very interesting.  Part 1 : Diesel Suitcase Experiment  Part 2 : Diesel Suitcase Experiment Seemingly uses very little diesel...

    Cummins Canoe (A Stepvan Story)

Lolol PoG! I especially love your use of found materials. I'm all about recycled construction practices. It amazes me all the useful stuff people throw away, and I love a good find. I have a vintage military field desk I hope to find a place for in mu build one day.

    Cummins Canoe (A Stepvan Story)

Looks really great! All your prep and hard work is turning out awesome. Any thought on painting the ceiling white or a light color? It will give a feeling of openness. It would look like shiplap. Maybe use a bathroom type paint for more water resistance.

Where To Get Work Done Near Las Vegas

I don't have a recommendation and if no one else here does I would suggest posting over on the DIY Power Solar board @https://diysolarforum.com/. It seems to be a very knowledgeable bunch over there. Maybe search the forum for "Las Vegas and install"

$250 awning instead of $1k awning?

I think for $250 I'd most likely get a Clam pop up screen/shade canopy similar to this one : https://www.wayfair.com/outdoor/pdp/clam-118-ft-w-x-118-ft-d-fiberglass-pop-up-gazebo-cbxr1002.html Or this very similar one for $180 ...
