looking at your post of 1500 watt inverter and using #6 wire is too small. at least a #4 if a short run . here is a guide for some example of wire size and inverter size and the length of cable used. http://www.purkeys.net/files/content/files/Inverter_System_Cable_Size_Guide.pdf
