Chevy Express / GMC Savanna / Ford Econoline

Would love to hear about your trick, as I have a window van, too! EDIT: Well, I just realized this would be off-topic. Sorry, I will open a new thread and ask.

Gigi The Great White Beast Build

Congrats on fixing the leak! Do you by chance have a link or the exact name of the weatherstripping. I tried a quick google search but couln't find it. Btw, awesome progress, and that floor looks great!

    Room For Bicycles

Holy moly... $1480 for that box. It looks nice and safe, but for me that would be "a little" too expensive. I really think less is more when it comes to full-timing, i.e. do you really need TWO bikes? Would one do and you could keep it safe inside the van - e.g. like FALCON did here  If...

    Building Carmon

I don't have any experience, but I also got something from Zinsser, which I've used this past weekend to paint the subfloor and the van floor with (see more here).

    Ford and Spark Plug Issues

Yeah thank you, Introverting! I have a 2001 V8 Triton, and the previous owner had the most "prone" plug fixed with an insert. It was a time-consuming act for me to find this out while changing the spark plugs after I got the van (my thread about my spark plugs).

    Taking the plunge

For batteries, I also want to walk in and out. I have Batteries + Bulbs near by. I see they also carry 12V AGMs. I will most likely get 6V golf cart batteries for starters. Better learn about batteries by "murdering" cheap ones than expensive ones.

Anyone here that can help me A.S.A.P. choose a good van?

If I am looking for a vehicle, I check-mark the "Clean" title status on CL. Greatly reduces waste of time...

    2001 E-350 extended WB build

It's been a while. My van was basically just sitting there for a month and it has been raining a lot in humid SC and water had been dripping onto my plywood floor. There were two spots, one from the window and one from the rear door seal. Just wanted to share that just within a month dark spots...

Chevy Express / GMC Savanna / Ford Econoline

Just want to share that I have a 2001 Ford E-350 with no problems so far, but if could do it over again I would go with a Chevy/GMC (I voted for Chevy).

    Wrinkles on the road.

Whoever invented those shirts needs to be .... It takes me 15 min. to iron one shirt, and before I turn the car key, it is already wrinkled. What I do (the lazy way): After washing I put them in the dryer for only 10 - 15 mins. While they're still damp, hand press and hang 'em (like the...

1993 Ford Club Wagon (Juanita born again)

Nice progress! I was also contemplating about the rear AC. Mine is in the very back on top of the metal roof over the back doors (but still under the fiberglass roof) - not sure if that makes sense. But since it is working, I figured I'll keep it and run the AC when driving. It takes up some...

    Switzerland full time RV

Hola Monica, Encantado de conocer te :) Let me start with saying that I have not tried "full-timing" in the US. But here is what I think, after living 38 years in Switzerland. Back in Switzerland, I didn't live in my VW Bus, but I never had any problems parking in a city or in nature to sleep...

How do you bolt down a solar panel?

Just my few cents. I read good things about the 3M VHB tape, but keep in mind that you are basically gluing your solar panels to the paint of your roof and not the actual roof.

    You Ain't Right Club

Can someone explain to a non-native English speaker what exactly "I ain't right" or "You ain't right" means? I mean, I understand each word, but as I am reading through the various posts, I am amused but confused. And what's wrong with being a musician or post office worker? English is my 3rd...
