So our most recent van is a Chevy Express window van. How to get some privacy in the window van?  My first solution was to crazy glue rubber / metal washers (https://tinyurl.com/kjbnulj) to the corners of the windows, this provides a metal surface for the magnets with a soft rubber "bumper" against the glass.  Then cut up emergency blankets (cheapest way I found to get mylar here was a good deal;  https://tinyurl.com/lnzwyuz) for each window and use magnets to hold the mylar against the window.

At dollar tree they have foam board.  This is cool stuff. It is expensive in craft stores but not at dollar tree.  It turns out that these are the exact right width for the stock windows!  Using spray on glue you can glue the mylar to the foam board, silver facing out in the hot weather and you have a simple cheap solution that you can stack under your mattress when you don't want to leave them in the windows.  The foam board  provides minuscule insulation and also helps protects the windows from bumps and scratches from your gear rubbing on them.

The mylar blankets are also handy for more things as well.  For the front windshield you can glue the washers along the top and use a mylar blanket to make a huge edge to edge sun blocker.  Also in an emergency, making a tent inside your van out of these blankets could help you stay warm.  Or for first aid use the blankets when helping treat for shock.

Final tip; I use scotch tape to hold the washers against the glass until the glue sets.

Blessings!  SojourningAdam

Dollar Tree also has mylar windshield covers. These can be cut up to make shades!
