More like "asylum" or as the founder would say "just a group of maties ARG!". Think I may look for the flag while there, just warning ya'll.

Moxadox,

The YARC Camp came about as some of us on here or on another forum started getting together.

There is a YARC thread on here and then goes over to another forum. Mostly those are the folks that have established a Camp in Quartzsite at La Posa South.

We have a good group. Swing by if you are out this way.

Thanks Cammalu, we probably will end up getting to Quartsite on the 8th or 9th but most likely in the old Jeep truck as my other rig doesn't look like it will be done. Haven't thought much about where we will camp but I'm not remounting the solar yet so will try to maybe get out by ourselves as much as possible so we can use the generator if we need to. I'll be towing our Samurai 4x4 so maybe we can do some rides.

Thank you, both for clearing up the mystery and for the invite! I'm planning to be at the WRTR then head over to Q, so I will shout at you and find out your location. Glad to know there's "that" kind of camp[emoji106]

…………...and the GOOD NEWS from the LTVA's is all the trash has been cleaned up and the dumpsters are being emptied regularly.....

Toilet Paper was found in one spot check ……………Of course the Water and Dump are operational...…...gates are open

The Gold Depository looked dead,or dormant, when I passed by on my way to the SW from the NE at the end of 2015. Rings of fencing. No visible activity.
The US Gold is probably in a private vault somewhere else in the world.

Mike your gold is well hidden and well protected. To get back on the subject of "Campground" It's not Ted and Mandy riding around on a golf cart selling firewood wearing straw hats and sipping beer. Don't expect picnic tables and individual cooking stations ready to use. Your campground is what you make of it no more no less. Have fun kids.

Won't keep them from trying just like they are trying to close the whole southern border. This last year plans were in place to baracade the entrance roads to our park and in the last few months gates have been installed for just that purpose.

It would take the entire US military to shut down ALL BLM land just play by the rules.

Seeing reports now that fools and undesirables are trashing Joshua Tree and Yosemite NPs. Off road driving and physical damage to Joshua trees, plus arguments of camp sites and spreading trash around are being reported.

Ticklebelly I won't worry about it to much that kind of stuff goes on all the time government shut down or not. the Rangers can't be everywhere at once and there is always an asshole in the crowd. right now the media might be playing it up because you know that's what they do best. highdesertranger

And on the other hand, I've been reading about the local good folks who have been stepping up to the plate maintaining toilets and hauling off trash so that the winter tourists can continue to enjoy. If more of us pitch in like that, we won't be so dependent on the guvvy to keep the desert open.

There have never been enough government enployees to keep the federal lands clear of trash even when the government is open! Volunteers and concerned individuals have always been the main and most important factor in making sure trash doesn't become litter. Don't be that person that litters and report the ones that do, law enforcement is still there and will follow up once the government reopens. Pictures, videos and witness statements can be turned in at that time. Normally violators are given the option to clean it up or be fined/jail time. When there is no police around you are the eyes and ears of enforcement. Never confront, always report!
