Yes, I know how to spell "stupid". Thought this might be an entertaining thread for anyone to add their .02 cents on when they were young and duuuuupid.

Okay, I'll start.

When I was young and duuuuupid:

I got myself into lots of debt thinking I was smart in building up my credit record. Finally smartened up and have virtually zero debts now. Took many lessons!

Made poor decisions for girlfriends...still do! Some things don't change! Maybe I should be a monk??

Sold Amazon (AMZN) shares at around $50/share around 13 years ago...duh! I'd have lots of dough today if I kept it.

Sold Apple (AAPL) shares at around $10/share some 25 years ago...double duh!! I'd have tons and tons of dough today if I kept it.

Worked couple part time jobs in addition to a full time job for more earnings, but it was killin' my health. I used to think I had endless energy. Duuuupid!

Took me a looooooong 10 years to graduate with my bachelor BA college degree in business because I only went to school part time in the evenings and worked full time during the day. I don't suggest this for most people, I would have done things differently in hindsight.

Inhaled caffeine like there was no tomorrow...that gave me huge headaches from caffeine withdrawals on weekends.

Spent too much money on buying different cars every few years, especially fast cars that gave me speeding tickets! Actually, I still have this problem!

I'm sure there's plenty more duuuupid @ss stuff when I was young, but hey, that's a start for anyone else to continue on, haha!

This thread would probably end up with several hundred dollars tallied if everyone who was young and stupid with drugs/alcohol chimed in with their 2 cents.

Marriage anyone else?

Out of the 7 listed above I'm guilty of 5 and a Y&S marriage is one of them.

I can't think of anything I've done that's comparable to what's already been listed XD

Although a lot of stupid things I've done have been learning experiences. Since I like where I am now, I really can't regret anything along the path that got me here

I think when all is said and done, I don't regret any of the relationships I have had, even my failed marriage. They all had value and special memories Did regret many of the decisions i made though and how i handled them.

I forgot to mention, I also had 3 marriages and divorces. Triple stupid!!!

Compared to some, my life's been really rough; compared to other's, its been a cake walk (without the frosting!). Life is what you make it. You aren't born with the knowledge, and as long as you look at it as a learning experience and apply what you learned into the future, you shouldn't hold onto mistakes. "If you haven't made a mistake you haven't lived". If that statement is true...I've already lived 10 lifetimes! Yup...10 lifetimes with no frosting...until now! I'm making a batch!!!

I was married once, 'Once'! That ended 20 years ago this year.

I'll go with what Dazar had to say about it;

"I don't regret any of the relationships I have had, even my failed marriage. hey now, talk about being stupid, i graduate from the school of hard knocks, still in school if you know what i mean!!. the only thing i did right was self gradation, in other words, sex drugs an rockroll and alot of surfing an hanging out at he beach. now at the age of sixty, i can say that if i had to do it all over, i would not change a thing in my life. i will go to my grave knowing that i had one hell of a good time spent here on mother earth. gary

I dig the El Camino as a kid, always thought it was cool! That VW Bus is also cool, I still see those things on the road and wonder how in the world are they still road-worthy. Everytime I see a nice tricked out VW Vanagon or EuroVan, I still turn my head to check it out, haha! I used to have a Ford Mustang, plus a Ford Probe Turbo. Nowadays I like my BMW convertible, especially driving topless on the freeway along the coastline on a warm summer day. Girls like riding in convertibles, no matter how much they tell you they hate having their hair messed up in the wind!

I've only owned one convertible and it was a turquoise and white '55 Chevy and it was still in pretty good shape back in '70. I sold it for $250 because I didn't want to take the chance that someone might slice the top to steal my new Craig 8-track tape player. That Chevy would be worth about $40,000 today!

did the married thing way too young...and became a parent...without any sort of plan. it was really stupid but i tell you, its amazing how that kicks any remaining stupid out of your system lol...at least it did for me.

been divorced a long time. i still want to remarry but dont want to have more kids...enough people in the world already.

both of my daughters are early college age and have grown up, so far, to be great peeps. one is in nursing school going for bachelor in nursing and the other is just about to enter college and considering Navy for medical school.

other stupid stuff? tearing apart my 1968 chevelle malibu (beautiful car) when i was 18 to "restore" it and i barely had a dime...i eventually had to give it away (long story).

i regret that almost every day. should have just drove it and loved it.

lastly, the most stupid thing i did was to give an employer 150% of my effort...i actually did it three times in my life and it was devastating to me. it was a different kind of stupid, one that happened probably because i tried too hard to mature and went over the edge.

never again. work for ME now

Why young and stupid? How about old and still stupid? Picked up a Yamaha 650 V Star the other day. Red, lots of chrome, Vance & Hines slash pipes, rejetted. Its a real nice cruise at 45 to 55 mph but no matter what, I always have to see what it can do. Still stupid and loving every minute of it.
