Thanks Brad.....too cool.....I've always loved to tear apart stuff to discover the "magic" inside..... especially if I didn't have to REassemble.....I've saved his site for later perusing

Ha, I spent many childhood days taking apart things that broke.  Now when I do it and have to put it back together, I miss the old days when the project only went one way
 
That made me smile- My mother had an old wind up alarm clock that she would put on a cookie sheet and an assortment of small screw drivers and pliers and give us kids when we were bed-ridden-sick.

As I got older-I even got it to wind and tick after putting it back together..
 
One thing I found surprising was the consistency of the "oil" in the "pan". You know the old adage about never starting a fridge after it's been laying on it's side because it takes X amount of time for the compressor oil to settle back down?

That stuff was a thin as water. Raises some questions...probably no answers tho :)
 
Really cool video , i imagine a 12 volt Danfoss compressor would be simular.
