Nada lists it in good condition at around 6K-ish, but I'm not sure of all of the van's options. I added what I knew.  I've read that Nada prices tend to be a bit higher than what RV's actually sell at sometimes, but the miles are so low I'm not sure what is a fair price.

I'm yet to travel, and i was thinking of picking up an old minivan and doing a very simple build to try it out.  But if I can pick up a nicer van at a good price that I can turn around and sell if I decide I want to downgrade, I'd be interested. I don't know much about Class B's, so any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks.

If the mileage is really only 44,000 AND he's taken it on several cross country trips then something doesn't add up right. Either it's got 144,000 miles on it or that 26 year old van sat for almost all of it's life except for his cross country trips.

it's got almost as much 'mileage' on the generator as it does on the vehicle.

Be very wary of older Dodges, the frames are the first thing to rust particularly around the steering box making repairs almost impossible. Also the amount of work done doesn't reflect the age of the vehicle....rubber parts get dry.

Also all those nice RV parts like the fridge and the furnace...well they're way past life expectancy and can be quite pricey to replace because you have to choose something that will fit in the precise space that the original was in.

If you can talk down the price a whole lot and the van and all it's parts both mechanical and RV, all check out, then you  might have a good deal. IF you like the interior, personally, I find them too cramped for my liking but YMMV.

Roadtreks go for **much** higher than other conversions.

Such low miles are a red flag unless just on a new / rebuilt engine?

Get a mechanic to give a thorough going over.

If true all checks out a below-market deal

That's a nice looking van. I agree the price is a little high but it's worth looking at.

Even in good condition, I'm still not sure what the van is worth. I don't have enough info on the "options" to plug them in correctly into Nada. What do you guys think? What should I offer roughly?

If it all checks out, brakes/rotors, tires, and miles, body/rust, etc. I'd give $5700-$6500. A 1989 local to me sold for $6000. Just found a 93 Roadtrek 190 for $13,900 dealer lot. 211,000 miles .. Not that it's an absolutely comparable (dealer I mean).

Isn't RI in the rust belt of the North? Other than that, it looks like a Go to me.

Sure is, and often saltspray in the air year round, not just on winter roads.

Fine toothed comb time

RI to CA is about 3k miles. So he put like 12-14k on it. Don't know how generator has 4k though....that's pretty high.
