what do I need to run a desktop computer high end games

I keep a chromebook as a general use and on-call computer. I can toss it in my bag when I'm on call (network administrator) and tether in from wherever I have a cell signal.
It uses a lot less power than my Dell gaming laptop, even when just surfing around and checking email, so I reserve the use of the bigger computer for when I need/want it, and use the chromebook for just about everything else. Also, you can pick up a decent chromebook for a little over a hundred bucks, if you keep your eyes open and find a deal.
