What about camp hosting jobs [split]

Like many of you, I was forced into vandwelling by circumstances, but I soon fell in love with it. So much so that I wanted to tell others about it. so I created cheaprvliving.com as a method to promote a lifestyle I love. After six years of full-time vandwelling, I moved back into a house, and totally hated it! Then, three years ago, I moved back into a home-built camper and have been full-timing every since. It is my deepest desire to never live in a house again! I am retired and work in the summer as a campground host in the National Forests and in the winter I draw unemployment and live for free on BLM desert land.&nbsp; But that's enough about me, tell us all about the most important person in the forum, YOU the new member.<br />Bob

Thanks for sharing and for everything that you are doing to help so many people.

I would like to know more about the campground host jobs you do and how you are able to then draw unemployment in the winters.   Because of health reasons, I will start drawing Social Security retirement benefits this coming January so, naturally, I am trying to figure out how I will be able to live on around $900 - $1,000 a month.  I also know that many campground host jobs require you to have a fully self contained RV, but I only have a van.

I also know that many campground host jobs require you to have a fully self contained RV, but I only have a van.

It's my understanding that some jobs not only don't require a self contained RV, but couldn't even accommodate one.  Some host jobs will be in campgrounds with no hookups, catering to tent campers rather than RVs.
Amazon, sugar beet processing and gate guarding all generally require you to be self contained, but camp hosts work in all kinds of campgrounds.
