Wool felting takes few tools, little space, and weighs nearly nothing as a hobby. It does take soapy water to wet felt though, so not every camp is suited to it. Here is my current indoor footwear:

I am no good at crocheting or knitting, as counting annoys me (actually, it's more that i'm easily distracted and lose count). I very much admire crochet and knit wearables, though!

They are so toasty. Just in case the question is serious... Wetting wool is one way to make it into felt. It basically goes like this: lay wool fiber in thin layers & alternating directions, get wet with soapy water, tickle, massage, rub, roll, squeeze, twist, throw, beat. Then rinse and let dry.

Good therapy for folks with anger issues

I buy natural wool and dye it myself on the stovetop -- with kool-aid and/or food coloring. That way I don't need a separate dye pot and can use my regular cookware.
