I will add this to anyone interested this is a beautiful area along Oregon's coast. in some areas the dunes end and the forest begins. however it's windy all the time after all that's why the dunes are there. thanks for posting Cyndi. highdesertranger

I've ridden there. Thousand of acres of sand riding. Better have paddle tires for your machine though.
Change out to dirt tires, and go inland, for big trees, and lots of green.

I've split the thread so those of you who don't understand the importance of volunteering can continue discuss it's merits and idiocy  in it's own thread. Please feel free to continue your conversation here: https://vanlivingforum.com/showthread.php?tid=13634

My city is right at the bottom of these dunes, and the listed head office is 1/2 hour away.

This is an outdoorsman's paradise! Lots of excellent fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, surfing, and blasting around the dunes in ORVs. The scenery is breathtaking, and the folks around here are very laid-back, easy-going, and friendly.

Yes, it is windy here, but it's never too hot, and it's never too cold. Summer's are in the 70's, and winter's are in the 40's. We (locals) simply wear layers, and adjust as needed.
