Ok friends, I've been researching the Virtual Assistant world for a few days now, and it sounds like something that would work for me a side income. Is anyone here actually doing this, and if so would you mind sharing your experience? Thanks so much!

I thought u seemed like a industrious sort like myself especially when I was younger. it is a good idea to get stuff out there. Would u want to work on blog and captains log? I'd write alot more if I didn't need to think too much about grammer spelling? We could put your name on everything. I also can't post iPad pics to captains log. Think they haVe to be sent somewhere else. Currently out here with very little signal. Don't have time or pateince to go into pms hope that's OK! Beautiful out here on Texas gulf coast. I have some friends who are in VA.   One does Italic Calligraphy (hand lettering) and produces custom items for clients.  She started out on a site called, "Guru com" a place for freelancers/VA's.  It works similar to eBay except instead of goods you are selling,  it's your skills/services.  These sites give you a small "Profile" space to showcase your skill sets by description and you can post some images of your work.   You may use PayPal as a gateway to be paid or others similar to it.  Each of these sites below is on a server in the USA.

There are many more like these out there.  Some of them specialize in the talent they reach out to.  IT,  Multi Media,  Office,  Programming,  Database, etc.   Just use the search engines to find VA sites that target your abilities.    But VA allows for a lot of earnings opportunity while on the road.

I would think that if a younger person who is into doing this were to set themselves up as a single proprietor small business,  they would have some Tax Advantages.   (if not with their rig,  with capital equipment such as
computer equipment,  software, internet cost, cell,  business stationary/postage etc) 

It may bear being worthwhile to speak with one's accountant to see if the operation of their rig could have any Tax Breaks when used in their work.

You might be willing to work for less, but people in Russia, India, etc. are willing to work for $5-7 per hour. Their cost of living is just so much less. I've seen people on Fiverr working for $5 per hour or less for transcription, virtual assistant, etc.

May just be my point of view; ... but that seems to make it even more appropriate/desirable for nomads/vandwellers as the COL is so much less than people that work remotely from a s&b location ...
