So I went to Walmart today, and as I arrived at the entrance I noted there was a car broke down with 4 way flashers on. I parked in a parking spot close to that entrance and walked back to see if there was anything I could do? It was a lady in her late forties, maybe early fifties with what appeared to me to be her 8ish yo grand son? They were having a really bad day. The drivers side ball joint had let go, the drivers side fender was sitting on the tire with the two front tires pointing in opposite directions. This car was going nowhere without a tow truck.
As I was talking to the lady, another lady pulled right up to her bumper, blowing the horn and waving her arms around. This pushed my button, in a loud and firm voice I informed the second lady that the car was going nowhere, please go around! I further asked if she had not noticed the four way hazard lights flashing on the car? Lady two said where should I go? I replied, go around like everybody else is doing, in fact, follow the car that just went around. Sheesh! A truck towing a trailer had just gone around, so plenty of room.
After that I advised the lady with the broken down car to get the little boy out and go sit on the lawn under a shade tree. (it was hot out) while they were waiting for their tow truck, mostly for safety after that second lady convinced me that people are crazy, and somebody might hit the car with the little boy in it.
I then took a quick trip inside, and because I knew what I wanted, was back out in a few minutes. I bought two bottles of cold water and gave the water to them as I walked by, and wished them well.
Sorry folks, but I had to blow a bit of steam off here after witnessing that insanity.

anyone using a car horn instantly draws my ire,i have no idea why they have them, the only time i have used it is to scare the crap out of whoever is looking under my hood

Either I am getting much more sensitive to stupidity, or people are getting more dumb and obnoxious. Fifty/Fifty? I don't think so, because three people called me today to vent about stupid, obnoxious people. Don't want to put up with them, can't shoot 'em.

Gary
I bet whoever was under that hood looked up and said "You Ain't Right"

Same as what should have been told to that lady with HER horn !
OR
Was that "You Can't Fix Stupid" !

Some people lack coping mechanisms. Frazzled and fried is the smell of the day.

the last owner hooked up an air horn in mine. The look on someones face as they're crossing the street in front of me and I blow both of them at once is priceless.

Funny, that's the same thing the lady with the broke car told me. :p
She was already stressed about her car and thankful that I handled the idiot for her.

Ever notice how the same drivers who don't have time to use a turn signal can sound a horn before a light turns green?

I use my airhorn maybe 6 times a year- at drivers having a stupid moment...... it's easier than gesturing.....

Good for you Ballenxj

You know? If I had one of those hand held air horns, I would have been tempted to use it on her, but she probably would have spazzed out and hit somebody?

I used to have one of those bumper stickers that said "Horn broken watch for finger!"

It always amuses me how newbie van-dwellers pee their pants about serial killers and bears oh noes!!!, when by far the most dangerous part of living in a vehicle is driving it.

They have found a period of time smaller than a nano-second....It's when the light turns green and the first moron honks.

I've lived in here in Stupid Central for 24 years, and I'm still being surprised by some of the stupidities that I see. If they were actually smart enough to think up this stuff, it would be one thing, but they're coming up with it with apparently no working brain cells at all. How can that happen with nothing inside a person's skull except dust, cobwebs and dry leaves???

Where is stupid central ?
Sounds like a map I need to tear out of my atlas......
And use it for TP like I did for CT.

Stupid central is also known as any town USA. Home to lots of free range non thinkers.

The SC that I refer to is WA State, but it's not exclusive. The other WA is pretty dumb, too. But there are about 30 towns in this country named Washington and, due to my experiences here, I will try to avoid all of them in my travels.
