Just pulled my fanastifan screen..i cook and it gets dirty and covered in this grease. Cleaning it last time was hard and annoying. This time i used oven cleaner...best 2 bucks I've spent in a while. Wow! Let it sit a few minutes and just rinse off the black sludge. So clean now lol. I think when it gets cooler ill do the fan blades too

A clean fan, is an efficient fan.

My roof exhaust gets pretty ugly far too quick.

I don't know about oven cleaner I would have tried simple green first maybe let it soak a bit longer. just my 2 cents. highdesertranger

I just use 91% rubbing alcohol. Seems to break up grease nicely and has a thousand other uses in my van.

Oven cleaner does seem a bit drastic. Hope that screen is stainless, I could see nylon screen getting super fragile

Hmm i hope it wouldnt corrode it. Im pretty sure its metal with a coating ..might eat at the coating i guess.

oven cleaner is mostly lye. Very good on burnt grease, very bad on flesh. A heavy duty cleaner as mentioned above is a better choice. Even Dawn Dish is good on grease.

I find that 'Mean Green' will take just about any build up of cooking grease as well as any other grime off of just about any surface.

It can be used either as a spray full strength on solid surfaces or mixed with water for soaking things.
