Did a search here and cannot find any info.  If you buy a van with windows you do not want on the sides, can you re-cover them to almost the way they were before they were cut, for security reasons?  I am not asking about insulting them from the inside. Thank you.

No reason you couldn't remove the windows and have blanks cut to the same size as the opening out of sheet metal. Then have them welded in place or bonded in place using Sikaflex

Might be costly, but if that's what you want, why not?

LOL, Happy Memorial day! :D

Xfile - there might be a better way that won't involve welding and then having to repaint the van. Keep in mind that any van more than a few years old - well you won't get the paint to match so you end up having to paint the entire van. That can get really costly!

If it's one window  that you want not to use as a window, then simply cut plywood to fit inside the window frame and fasten it in place. You can either paint it to match the exterior as best you can or decorate it to go along with whatever window treatment you're using on the other windows.

If it's all the windows you want covered up this way, then you're probably better off simply ruling out window vans in the shopping process.

There are high quality perforated window decals which adhere to the outside of the window.  You can see out but it is difficult for anyone to see in.

You could have curtains on the insides of the windows too.  Not difficult to set up.  You may find this decal window covering in the same basic color of your rig.

Here's an installation on a White Van

As you can see,  there is some visibility.

I drive a DAV Van once a week which is covered in this film.  It is easy to see through the windows along the sides and rear.  It cuts down on the Sun for the passengers comfort too.

The Van that I drive has commercial lettering film on it to advertise to Disabled Vets....similar to this commercial installation:

From the outside it looks like the windows are painted,  but from the inside
you can see through the windows fairly well.

Our city buses have buses wrapped in ads and where the windows are is covered with the performated material. You can see out perfectly well, but it does block a lot of sunlight coming in.
